We just got done installing a full set of the Energy Suspension bushings in a 2.4L Sol and I must say it made a dramatic difference! The turn in was sharper, there was a slight bit less roll in the corners and the overall stability seemed much improved! It made the suspension a slight bit louder but for the racer guys it is a great trade off!

when you say louder you mean squeaking? I only ask because I put energys on my 78 bronco and didn't hear anything but I figured it might be because the truck is loud. I just don't want more squeaks that I have now.

Probably just more NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) period. The poly bushings would not dampen down the vibrations from the road surface like the OEM rubber bushings.

Everything is a compromise when increasing performance.

Yea I already knew all that but I wasn't sure if it was a squeaking kind of noise or some other noise.

Bump to revive a dead thread...did u notice if the carrier bushings lessened the slop and vibration of the driveline?

I talked to someone who installed the carrier bushing earlier this summer. Their advice: "DO NOT DO IT!". Sounded, according to them, "like the differential was going to fall out of the back of the car, every time I shift."

Apparently, it make the clunk ten times worse (their words). They ended up removing it, it was that bad.

Also, if you have the GXP suspension (code FE3?), use caution before attempting the installation of the bushings in the lower control arm. I was told by someone else that installed the control arm bushings that the GXP suspension bushings do not have 'straight' tubes - and the instructions for installation of the lower control arm bushings include burning out the crush tubes of the bushing for reuse in the new urethane bushings. Their car was down for a bit while they had to have a shop machine new ones so they could install the urethane bushings.

Apparently, this is not the case with the base suspension bushings.

(making bulges or changes to the crush tubes of a bushing is a technique for increasing bushing rates, so this is not that surprising).
