Got mine today @ 3. Fired it up @ 4:30. ITS QUIET, but a deeper note. Bliped the throttle, OK. Still perplexed. Rounded up all my tools & straped the ramps in the passenger seat & headed home. Soon as I left the driveway I stabbed the throttle. ITS FRIGGIN PERFECT. What a glorious sound. Nothing at all like any sound bites you have posted. Cruising tone perfect. Zero drone! Talk to Eloy & believe everything he says about this system. Then give yours away & get one. The strange thing is that it doesn't sound remotely like a 4 banger. If you are in the Houston area PM me, you need to drive this car.
You said it is quiet? It seemed to be loud on the video. I am ready to go duals for my N/A but have not decided which system to get..everyone it seems has been saying "SOLO" lately. I want a nice deep smooth sound. I do not want it loud (unless maybe I am punching it) I drive the car everyday..my biggest concern would be too loud of sound at cruising speeds on highway/freeway. I am in sales and sometimes receive calls (bluetooth handsfree).
Also where can we see photos of this system after install under the car?

I have a GXP, so the turbo is going to make it quieter than the NA. I thought it would be piss off the neighbors loud, but its not. Cruising its louder than stock, but not what I would consider loud, just a mild to moderate throaty sports car sound. Cruising at 80 quiet (go figure) Yes you can talk on your phone, hear your passenger, listen to the radio... then hit the gas. This aint no Magnaflow which sounds the same on any car. I e-mailed RPI monts ago & asked them why they added the bends rather than the split eagle style they originally had similar to the Solo. They replied that it was to eliminate the drone. Well it worked!

Does that imply the Solo kits have a droning sound at cruising speed? I ordered the RCD for my GXP.

Any chance you'd have a cut away of the mufflers ? Are these chambered/glasspacks or what ?
Thanks in advance
Sorry, no pictures. These are straight through bullet mufflers with fb and steel wool. The perforations diameters were specifically set for the sound you'll get.

Drone will kill you. Trust me. When I drove around with the different prototypes, I couldn't wait for the changes to be made where I wouldn't have the aweful drone at cruising speeds. This was an email sent to be from Franz von Hoz, etc. (designer of sky and solstice).
"Hey Eloy,
Great to meet you and your wife as well. She is a sport to go along for such a ride! Saw you guys later on the freeway…hope to see you guys again soon.
What was the exhaust you had on your car? Was the best sounding one there…
Talk soon,
Franz von Holzhausen"

Speaking of Franz, I was saddened to see that an article about him in Sept Men's Journal (page 115) has no mention of the Solstice/Sky designs. Now that he's gone over to Mazda, I guess they want to cover his tracks. Too bad.

hehe, yeah. I talked to him this past weekend. He's been working on the new Miata or mx3 whatever. I asked him when it would be done or we would see something and he said that it wouldnt be until next year.

That must be the "Kabura, a sinewy three-seat concept sports car." Wonder where that 3rd seat goes...no trunk at all, maybe? lol

Installed the Race Precision GT Exhaust on my GXP this past weekend. I thought the car was fun to drive before, but with this new exhaust it's absolutely a blast. Beefy, menacing tone under acceleration but pretty tame when cruising in 4th & 5th. A little bit of gurgle noise when I let off the gas. Also, I seem to be hitting redline in 2nd quicker as I've already discovered by accident a couple times since the install. I'm very pleased with the look, sound, and build quality of this exhaust.
I am wondering what it sounds like on a 2.4 N/A . Anyone out there have this arrangement? I want a nice deep smooth sound. I do not want it loud (unless maybe I am punching it) I drive the car everyday..my biggest concern would be too loud of sound at cruising speeds on highway/freeway. I wont even lie to you. Its going to be loud and you will experience some drone while cruising if you install it on the 2.4L. I drove it on a 2.4L for about a month to test it. Driving around town was fine and the exaust got a lot of attention as many people asked, "is that a v8?". The rumble makes it sound much meaner than even the 2.0. The only draw back is if you drive the freeway a lot. With the top up and music off, the drone can get annoying.

Possibly a real dumb question but here goes. How annoying is it? Top up and music playing is it much worse than stock? Loved the sound clip so am sorta interested in this.
