They typically are much better in terms of being able to cool the engine and prevent overheating. If you are greatly modifying your engine to boost performance, or have experienced issues with high engine temperatures in the past, aluminum radiators are a potential solution.

We have seen reduction in operating temperatures as much as 20 degrees in 90 degree weather. A cooler engine means less reduction in timing = more power! A must for the turbo or heavily modified cars!

Is the base radiator the same one as is used in the GXP? Same thermostat? How much does the stock weigh vs. your aluminum unit? Is it a "bolt in" conversion? Does it void warranties?

I am not sure if the GXP and base Solstice radiators or thermostats are the same. Ours weighs about 4 lbs more that the stock radiator and is well worth the small amount of added weight. It is a bolt in modification with some trimming of the OEM fan shroud necessary. It should not void any warranties what so ever. Our local dealers have not had any issues with them that I know of.
