Dry or damp applicator

I'm getting ready to wax for the first time http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/i...illy_nilly.gif I'm going with the Gold Class. Should I dampen the applicator, or leave it dry when applying?http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/i.../confused2.gif

Done

Well, I went ahead and waxed the Sol using the Gold Class. I must say, it is sooooo easy. I did have to wait about an hour for it to set up though. As I tried to tell my wife, the wax won't take water spots off - only a clay bar will. But nooooooooo, would she listen? Anyway, I'll be getting the clay bar kit and using the Dori san method. Thanks!

Applicators?

This Gold Class has a bare foam applicator. I am used to cloth covered foam applicators. What the deal? Is the foam by itself better? If so...Why? The results seemed pretty good, but I am not so sure it is any better than the stuff in the burgandy colored bottles.

I detailed my car a couple of weeks ago. Wash, clay, wash, polish, wax. Clean and vacumed interior, polished the chrome wheels with chrome polish and used tire wax on the tires. About 2 hrs. and 45 minutes. I work fast. I loved the result. I am expecting to get my order of RAGGTOP in any day now. I need to treat the top now. It's not beading water anymore.

here's mine after detailers clay, paint cleaner, polish, and wax.

I never clayed the whole car as Dori did. Did one section at a time. Nice job Dori. I used the McGuiar 3 step system. I'm not totally sold on the wax. took a little too long to dry for my taste. I've always been a paste wax man. never could figure out the optimal amount of liquid wax to apply to the applicator. anyway, what do you guys think?

Nick looks sharp!

Did you take the wax off with a dry cloth? I'm sure you know how to spit shine boots? Well I think the same thing works well with the car. Give it a whirl next time and you will have a mirror just like your boots

never tried that Mike. I'll give it a try next time. I used an orbital buffer to take off the wax.
