Griots Products

I could find the answer to my question using the search.
Has anyone used Griots Products? The reviews read good, but I don't believe everything I read. I do think the products are pricey. But are they worth it?
Any advise or opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Everything I've bought from Griot has been great, especially the carnoba wax.

Have not purchased any of their polishes or wax but purchased their digital tire pressure gauge--pricey but very good.

I have use many of their products for years. I especially like the leather cleaner and conditioner. It will leave the leather smelling like a new baseball glove.
The "best of show" wax is great. The interior cleaner is clear and does not leave a residue. Great on the dash. And I use their "quick detailer' between washes.

The dusting rag by Kozak (you can order on the web) is great for keeping a shine on your car without having to get it wet. I've had my Solstice now for 15 months and it hasn't been wet yet!

Well thanks for the responses. Would you guys say it's better than the "Most" liked Zaino? I like the reviews of both, but don't like the many many steps of Zaino. So I am looking for something as good or better than Zaino.
I think you guys talked me into Griots. Again, thanks for the responses.

Great stuff, but only if your annual salary is six figures or better. Stuff is pricey $$$$$ I'll stick with Murrays and have enough left over for a twelve pack.

I guarantee Perfect Auto Finish products will provide equal or superior results for a much more reasonable price. I have not personally tried griots products, but I email Gary to see what his experience has been with them. He explained to me that while most worked well, they are overpriced. He spent alot of time researching and testing products, and even had several sent to a lab to be broken down chemically. The paint sealant we offer contains the lowest amount of fillers compared to many other top brands. Our Paint Cleaner and Paint Sealant will provide the greatest shine and protection for a fair price.

$10 -The Ultimate Paint Sealant is also a synthetic that has been proven to last 4-6 months compared to the 3-4 weeks of protection you are going to get out of a caranuba wax.

$15 -The Ultimate Paint Cleaner is simple to use and is great for restoring shine and luster, while removing light scratches and imperfections.

$8 -The Ultimate Leather Cleaner is a non-caustic mild cleaner that is safe for leather, but also great on plastic, vinyl, carpet, etc.

$15 -The Ultimate Leather Conditoner is a pH balanced formula that protects from the suns harmful UV rays, restores oils so it doesn't dry out and crack, and prevents premature aging to ensure lasting beauty.

$10 -The Ultimate Dressing is a water based rubber and plastic dressing that is also safe for under the hood. Does not leave greasy residue like some oil based dressings, therefore reducing sling after a fresh detail.

These are just a few professional grade detailing products that can be found at Perfect Auto Finish - Kevin Traver - Auto Detailing

Another benefit of using our products is I am always available personally if you have any questions regarding the application or anything car care related.

I've been getting the Griot's catalog for about 18 months now, but haven't purchased anything mostly due to price.

I get the nagging feeling that they are a reseller, but I don't know if they are or not. No rumors, no proof, just a feelng. I due know that other companies have been known to buy their products in bulk quantities and sell them under a different label in smaller bottles. I heard a while back that Gary used to do that with Poorboy's World EX Sealant, but I heard that.

Griot's, however, does have some interesting products and I'd like to have a bunch of them!!!

There are several companies that repackage, some have custom blends made up by the "big guys" some are just the same stuff in a different bottle. There is a new product out that is creating a lot of talk on the autogeek forum called System One. I have a small kit, used it on Harley at a show and it worked really well, haven't had a chance to try it on the Solstice yet. I tried 200mph sealant on the Harley at the show and wasn't impressed at all, pretty sure they are a repackager. I like the Poorboys polish a lot, not much on there sealant. I haven't tried the Griot's yet. Many companies remarket Meguire's Pro line as there own because you can't buy it in bottles smaller than a gallon.

Well thanks for the info Kevin, very interesting. I have another question, what type of buffer do you use. I've never used one, so I need one that can be used by a "Buffer Dummy". Another question, since you've changed my mind about Griots, do you offer a package deal? I've got 5 vehicles, personally owned that need a GOOD Detail.
Other other question I have, I'm PM you. Again, thanks for the info.

I use several different buffers in the shop, but for the novice detailer I would recommend a Porter Cable 7424. It is simple to use and can aquire remarkable results. They run about $100 and I purchased my last one from www.coastaltool.com. If you would like to read more about the use and different pads check out:
Car Polisher & Auto Buffer Buyer's Guide (Porter Cable 7424 vs. Ultimate Detailing Machine)

We do offer savings with our detailing kits which are list at the top of the detailing section on this forum, just be sure to send the payment to ktraver@sbcglobal.net, not Gary's old one. I would also recommend reading through all the Stickied posts that Gary has made. They are very informative and will ensure you use the proper products and techniques when detailing. Are you familiar with the clay bar, if not, I can walk you through the process since it is one of the most important steps in paint correction. I believe it is also explained in one of garys stickies.
