Hey folks,
Wow, never had this happen before, but my wife and I made a road trip in her Solstice this weekend down to Louisville to see Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and T-Bone Burnett, and we ended up with some major sh*t on the car. We parked in a parking garage, and we got these 3 big drips from the ceiling above. The stuff reminds my of calcium deposits or something. The parking structure was made from cement, so maybe that's what it is. I tried to wash it off the normal way tonight an nothing doing. I took the time to rub one small area a lot and it did come off, but I'm worried this much rubbing might do damage to the larger areas. I'm thinking a special cleaner or some sort of cleaner wax type of thing.
Anyone have some intput?
I took a photo of this stuff, but I can't post it here. If you want to see it, PM me with your e-mail and I'll send you the JPG.
Thanks for your help in advance ---- Bonzo (old time member)

You're talking about your paint right, not you cloth top?
If it is your paint, just try taking some of the wax you have, most have some mild cleaners/polishers in them. If that doesn't get it all up, then just go get yourself some actual car polish. More abrasive than wax, not as abrasive as rubbing compound. You won't do any damage to the paint.
Let us know how it goes.

I have a parking garage, and right above me white powder has started to form on the cement, and it's been dropping down on to my car. I am able to just blow the powder away.
This is something that grows due to moisture and I'm hoping it doesn't get worse, or I'll have to cover my car with a sheet at night.

I wonder if "C-L-R" or "Lime-Away" would help without doing anything to the paint I use it to remove tanic acid stains from fallen leaves on my boat gelcoat without issues.

I was wondering the same thing actually. Hmmmmm?
Today I finally tried some Meguiars cleaner wax and a Mothers Clay bar. Nothing doing. It took a bit off, but not much. I used the clay bar a lot and even put what I would call mild haze of scratchng in the clear coat in the area I was rubbing. The sh*t is still there.
I am really frustrated, this stuff is "like" welded on. In all my years I have never seen anything like it.

The funny thing is that it WAS on the top too, but I was able to get that off believe it or not, with just a hose and a sponge. The drops on the paint are another matter. It sucks.
