Tried new products, cheating on Gary

GoNDef clued me into Poorboy products. I just tried two of them and all I can say is Wow.

I was initially a Mcquires fan (I know it is not spelled right) and then tried Gary's stuff. I have used Gary's stuff for a year and have been very very satisfied. GoNDef came over for a rally and barbcue and I got to tell you his car looked fantastic. It was not just my opinion, he and Joe (Deepbluegxp) went to a car show and Joe won best in class, but my bud, GoNDef won Best in Show.

He uses poorboy products and placed them on my favorites list on my lap top. I ordered and this morning I tried the first two.

Spray and Wipe quick detailer: This was the best most useful product I have ever tried. It took off all my water spots, even the ones on the plastic protection area where the deck flaps pop up. It can also be used in the sun. Very happy camper

Bug Squash, melted away the bugs on my front bumper. Just sprayed, waited 30 seconds and they wiped right off.

Gary, if you read this you say you are always evaluating new products, I suggest you give these two a try. I still love the rest of your stuff. Sorry I cheated on you but hey, you sold the business and the new guy never seems to say hello or post.

Chuck

Thanks a lot, now I have more stuff to try. I have an entire rack of car care products in my garage now. So far I really like Liquid Glass pre-cleaner and Liguid Galss sealent. I have only waxed the car once since I bought it and use Gary's Poly seal spray at least once a week been very happy and after a rain no water spots. Water spots are my nemisis, I just bought some stuff called Frenzy at a race this weekend I will report when I try it. I use Gary's quick detailer to do the bug removal, it works great. As wee all begin to experiment will will likely stumble on some of the products Gary repackaged. He just did us all a favor by put his name on a variety of products he liked. There is always new stuff comming out as well. Gary's stuff may not be the best but it's better than most and all his stuff works, and none of it is a waste of money. I will try Poor boys soon everyone seems to really like it.

Use Gary's stuff for everything else but as I run out I will replace with poorboy stuff. That is unless the new guy posts and identifies himself. Basic stuff I use is:

Cleaner
Sealer/polish
Wheel cleaner
Quick Detailer for clay bar and getting rid of bird poo or or fingerprints
leather care product
something for vinyl interior, I use tire dressing
Poly seal once month inbetween two times a year full detail

Ok I am confused on what is the difference between sealant/polish and wax? Don't they do the same thing?

wax lasts about 1 month, sealant is a chemical process that bonds to the paint and lasts about 6 months.

Wax is older technology,

But some people swear by wax and some swear by sealant. So take your pick. Also you can be like gondef and use sealant and then wax over it.

You really can not go wrong. Just try different things and see what you like. Everything is a mater of opinion. Also dark cars and light cars respond differently.

Do a google search on car detailing and start reading and you will know everything you need to know but will still have to just see what you like.

You also have to remember that a good sealant gives the car more of a reflective/metallic look while a good carnuba gives the car a deeper, richer look.

I've found best results come by using a good sealant for protection and then a good carnuba for that liquid, deep, 3-dimensional look.

edit: There are a couple good auto-detailing forums out there, Autopia.org has a good guide to detailing: http://autopia.org/forum/guide-detai...ect-shine.html

and while he lists specific products in his description, if you search around the internet, the Klasse sealant and the P21S Wax are often listed as the greatest products ever. Seriously.

www.autogeekonline.com was another site I checked out when looking up methods for attaining the perfect shine.

I have about 90% of their products and use about 40% of them on a regular basis. Tell me what you are trying to accomplish and what color you car is and I can make reccomendations...

I've been a pretty avid car detailer for the 20 years I've been driving and have tried A LOT of products. I'm stickin with Poorboy's...
