I am a member of a few forums and a pretty common question is "Do they make a Hardtop available to the public? the answer is yes now I have seen two different types on that makes you car look like a station wagon (why? I don’t know) but there is another company that make a hard top that completely transforms the way your car looks right now they only have one style available but there is talk about making a top that slightly resembles the gm race hardtop that everyone likes. And if I haven’t yet caught your attention I have some pictures of there hard top if you interested email me at amb4583@aol.com here is the link to there home page Smooth Line Custom Removable Hardtops if your interested enough to actually give them a call let them know that Alan Bier told you to check them out. Thanks everyone
HI blizzard my name is Alan and I actually work at smooth line I am there body man and I help design the tops, I just wanted to ask since you have one of our tops is there any thing that you can thing of that might make it better or that you don’t like, I am always looking for ways to improve new and old tops, if you have any comments I would like to hear them. Thanks
amb4583, a few people in the forum have requested for your company to please come out with the same design as the one GM put out for SCCA racers.
We are still waiting for your company to make it.

Are you guys looking into a design that fit like the coupe version coming out.
Thanks,
Derek
Hi Derek,
We are working on a new design which will look like the factory hardtop. It will be two piece design and will allow access to the trunk without removing hardtop. The project is moving ahead and may have some prototype pics in the near future.

if you search 'hard top' on this forum you'll find your possible customer base.
Hello my name is Alan, i work for a company called Smoothline in Pennsylvania we make hardtops for many different vehicles. We have just been working a new prototype for the solstice.
Two piece Hardtop shown with the thin line dividing the front and rear section
We have tried to address the fact that many people wanted a hardtop which will allow access to the trunk without removing the hardtop and also a hardtop which would retain the look of the Solstice humps on the deck. This design is a two piece hardtop while will allow the smaller section to lift with the truck. It will be lightweight so it does not put much stress on the hinges when opened. Your truck will open as you normally open it. The main hardtop roof section, which has the window, will stay in place when accessing the trunk. The main hardtop section can be easily removed and the rear hardtop section can left on as a styling bar or it can be removed and stored in the trunk if desired.
We are also considering producing the same hardtop in one piece as a "racer" lighweight style , bare bones without interior but with hardware and all the rubber seals.
Keep in mind this is a one off proto at this point. We expect to begin the tooling process soon but want to hear you input.
We have not nailed down any costs on either hardtop design but more likely the two piece design will be more than our current design currently at $1399.00 the "racer " model may be less.
There it is give us your comments favorable and unfavorable. Ask your questions.
