It does not say if it was ZOK, but I am assuming is a regular Solstice, let's see how others do in next upcoming events.

All the talk before about roll cages and as I read the rules they are only suggested, not mandatory. (although they are strongly suggested) Do I read that right?

Solo 2 does not require a roll bar - if you have mods on your car that would move you up in class then it might be required.
brentil has a stickey regarding everything on Solo 2 autocross. It is full of info for those of us who are seriously considering Autoxing our Solstice.

Took mine and a friend to a autocross this month. 180 cars were entered, 43 of which were novices class drivers, as were my friend and I. I finished 40th, he finished 1st, besting the times of the more experienced SB class. A ZO6 or two went down. Fun car to drive.

Club Racing requires roll-bars and a hard top because it's wheel-to-wheel racing (meaning you race against others on the same course at the same time) where SOLO II does not require either item since it's just you on the course usually (some places have courses setup to run more then one car but they're designed to keep you away from each other).
This was over on Miata.net from one of the people at the event.
Quote:
Dan Stone's car was on 245 V710s, iirc. His car is not optimally optioned - it has a limited slip, but no ABS, and the Solstice seems to be even more prone to locking the front brakes than the '99 Miatas are. Stock shocks, stock front bar, stock wheels, etc. A lot of us also noticed just how wiiiiiiiiide the Solstice is when Dan was driving the slalom section of the practice course on Friday. Since both courses this past weekend were out-and-back affairs heavy on the slaloms and offsets, I think the Solstice was at a bit of a disadvantage.

Yea, he drove my Sol. It all started with a car club in the early 70's. We all drove each others cars, and for me it is just part of tradition. I used to beat him half of the time, but this was my first autocross in 25 years. At times I was more confused than a baby in a topless bar. I'm going back and I expect to improve.
