Hey Guys and Gals,

First time poster here! I have been lurking in the shadows for a while now and figured I would finally make a post. I don’t have a solstice yet, but once my GTP is sold I will be running to a local dealer or contacting dealer nut to place an order.
I just wanted to let everyone know that Grassroots Motorsports did a Solstice / Miata performance comparison in their February issue and they gave it a pretty good review. I can scan the pages and post them up on the web if you guys would like (as long as moderators allow it).

Thanks Jason

Hey JS, sounds good. We had some threads on that while back but don't think we ever saw the article itself

Seems OK now - Brentil's small version worked for me with no issues.

Yeah I compiled that one for acrobat 6, so you would need 6 or 7 to see it correctly.

The numbers that matter in this article are the overall average elapsed time, all within 1 second and teh SOlstice firmly in teh middle between a 1990 Miata Sport and the 2006 MX5 Gran Sport. With comparable times and a base price advantage of $5k, the Solstice drives away a winner in my book. Sure it is comparing a 1990 car's performance, but then again the 1990 Miata tested had a base price almost identical to the Solstice.

It was a 1999 Miata Sport.

A 1990 Miata would run in E Stock (and would be like bringing a spoon to a gun fight running in C Stock)

The really promising thing about the article is that they didn't test the ZOK model. In fact they Solstice they tested didn't even have a limited slip differential!

I think the '99 Miata Sport's days are numbered at National level Solo 2 events. But I'm going to wait for Fast Mike to be the guinea pig. hehehehe
