BUT - if you are racing your car, pretty much anywhere you are allowed to change brake pads.
I'm told that the Cobalt SS (or ION Redline) front pads are much more resistant to fade, and go right in, BUT I also know someone whose ION RL has significant brake roughness and brake dust. This is par-for-the-course with performance pads - usually you trade off noise and more rotor wear for pad/brake longevity.
Also understand that the Saab 9-3 Rear pads will bolt right in too, and they are a bit better for track use, especially with the Cobalt SS/ION RedLine pads.
Well, I don't plan on tracking the Sol, but with the LS2, I am a little concerned with having adequate brakes for the street and autocross. However, in my test drive of the stock Solstice, I was impressed with the stock brakes. I think GM really built a winner here.

It appears that the rumored 1.51 third didn't make it.Automatic gets a 1.60?
This is for the Sky but I am assuming that it is going to be the same for the 07 Pontiac products?
I cant wait to see some pics, how far away time wise is it? I'll be test driving a sky on tuesday and hopefully pulling the trigger on a new car (whichever of the 5 I'm seriously considering) before the end of the month.

Others would know better how long it takes to get the car from Delaware to Washington state.
I am thinking late next week at the earliest.
Graphics package is still in the artist/creation mode. My graphics guy is going to show me some ideas this weekend.
Just wanted to let you knwo you had made the right choice getting it now too. There had been all that talk of the 2007 models getting the 3.73 gearing. The 2007 model information is out now and we know now only the GXP gets the different gearing the base Sol/Z0K still get the same gearing as the previous models.

Thanks for the support Brentil.
I am committed to the Pontiac now. MiataR drove away today.
Sad moment but hopefully the Solstice will give me as much pleasure and P1's as the Miata did.
How the heck do I find out where my car is???
I am hoping it is in Ohio or something by now....

I know some of our industrious members at one point had gotten the phone # of the trucking COs and were calling them directly.
However I believe dealers used to be able to look up some info on location. They had to call somewhere else in GM to find out. You gotta push on them to do it though usually.

It sure doesn't look like the N/A cars are getting the rumored 1.51 third gear so I am happy about that.
It wasn't that big of a deal especially since courses seem to be getting tighter.

Got my car!
My friends got theirs too.
We met outside our monthly race/autox meeting.
Pretty cool to see a white parked next to a black one.
2 virgin ZOK's all ready to be set up to autox.
Car is impressive stock to say the least.
Biggest complaint is that the exhaust is silent or I am going deaf.
Handles VERY well.
Takes all types of bumps VERY well.
Why isn't this suspension stock on all Solsti'?
They all should be like this for street.
We'll see how she does after alignment etc with some Kumho 710's and a cat back.
I think the car might be a winner!
