Since wheels are scarce for the Solstice I'd like to get a consice list of what is out there for everyone in one location. If you can post:

Diameter:
Width:
Weight:
Offset:
Link:

Also, if the wheel you find is legal for SCCA Solo II Stock class add that in as well:

SOLO II Stock: [Y][N]

(SOLO II Stock has to be same diameter and width with the offset being +/-.25" of 55mm (stock offset), and preferably light weight)

We are currently looking for rims for the Sol - idiot ran my wife into a curb and scratched up the right side - $500 to repair - I think we found a set for around $950 - will let you know all the details after Friday when we go to the store that has them.

Brian - Maybe I could buy one of your chromies after you get new rims. I dinged mine up when I and Bambi found ourselves fighting over the same piece of highway. By the way a new tire for our babies are about $250!

We have "polished" which we found out are not really "polished" - they are coated. To repair them you must remove all of the coating and repair them and then recoat them. $500 to do two.

I assume he's looking for specialized lightweight racing wheels since this is in the SCCA/Racing forum. That's my guess anyway

Yea, I sort of let this one get out of line...but it was intended for racing purposes. I have only found a couple wheels sutable for SCCA Stock Class (and those are custom made). However I would like to see all lightweight wheels that would fit the solstice for other racing classes as well....I see the car doing well in CS, AS (GXP), and SM2 for SOLO II...

I've been checking into wheels, stock size, for autocross. The only quote I got so far is from Kodiak, they will custom make a light weight race wheel. About $640 each. The stock ones from GM are close to $2000 for a set, so I would rather have the race wheels. But the cost is too high for me right now anyway. I guess the best thing to do would be to get a count of everyone who wants a set of autocross wheels. Maybe if we went to a manufacture with an order for say 10 sets, we could get a better price. It might be good to start a thread just on this- what do you all think?

I went with some of the new race wheels from www.forgeline.com
VERY trick and warranty come with them which is NOT normal for race wheels.
This was the model I picked:

Stock offset/size etc.

Beautiful wheels- I'll bet they look great on the car. I'd like to have a set of those, but for now they are probably out of the question unless I find a sponsor (ha) or benefactor. I picked up a set of used Forgeline wheels to learn on, but they are 17X7's. Sunday was the 1st time I had autcrossed in 11 years- I need seat time. Maybe later in the year I could get a set like yours. Is there any way to get a deal on them?

Wow, did you really pay $800+ per wheel? And do they offer a significant wieght savings over stock? I'm curious since I'm currently planning on a Solstice GXP which I'll certainly run in SOLO events. Thanks.

Stock polished aluminum wheels (the lightest of the 3 options) weigh exactly 23lbs (I've weighed them on tow scales personally). I believe the forgeline are 17.5~18 lbs each. Pretty good savings for such a huge wheel.

WOW, i'm certainly going to have to calibrate my wheel weight scales for the Sol. The major down fall of the S2000 is that's completely underwheeled. I run 225/245 16s on the stock 6.5F and 7.5 rear, BUt my stock rims only weigh about 18 lbs apiece. It's popular for the S2000 guys to get the JDM BBS wheels which are down around 13lbs.

Has any one looked in SSR competitions? They are usually the lightest around, and are not a bad value for the money.

We've gotten confirmation that there will be SSR wheels sold by tirerack.com sometime this year. ~$500 and probably 18lbs each.
