Riken is introducing the Riken Raptor ZR tire, a new line of ultra-high performance (UHP) tires that are initially being introduced for Michelin's Alliance dealers. The new tire combines cutting-edge looks with high-performance design and construction designed to appeal to consumers looking for a high-quality performance tire at an affordable price.
Initially, Riken will be introducing 27 sizes in the Raptor ZR line to the company's Alliance dealers on June 1, 2005 ranging from 16 to 18 inch dimensions (eight 16-inch, twelve 17-inch and seven 18-inch sizes). Following early in July 2005 will be two 20-inch sizes. When fully introduced, the Raptor ZR line will cover 78 percent of the UHP marketplace. The new tire is designed to compete in performance and price with other lower tier UHP tires including Toyo/Nitto, Kumho, Falken, Hankook and Cooper.
"This tire line is designed to provide our dealers with a tire that will deliver the right performance at the right price for the consumer looking to customize and improve the look and performance of their vehicle," said Thom Peebles, brand director Riken Tires. "This is a significant step for Riken as we are introducing the deepest UHP line in the brand's history and we won't stop there. We will continue to build Riken by introducing new sizes and new lines to provide our customers with the product they need to capitalize on the profitable lower price tier of the UHP market".
