GM dealer option "chrome" rims installed today
I can't disclose the vendor in the post (non-supporting), but I got a heck of a great deal on the dealer optioned chrome rims with Kumho Ecsta ASX tires and TPMS sensors (a Lincoln coin under $1,800 total w/ free shipping). Arrived today and bolted them on for a few snapshots. Took all of 4 minutes to reset the TPMS signals and ready for the road (when it stops raining).
I looked at aftermarket rim options, but felt maybe some I could add extra "value" having the dealer chromes given the rarity and GM official badging. I've been watching too many Mecum Auto Auctions on the HD network I guess...
From the posts I have been reading, it looks like the Ecsta's should be a small step up from the Goodyear F1's on the RL/GXP. We'll see after this weekend big WIS Dells / WiSols run.

Did not officially weigh them, but my "arm scale" lifting them onto the studs stated they were roughly the same weight as the 5-spoke OEM chrome wheels I swapped out. A bit beefy for a performance upgrade, more a "fashion statement" than anything else.
I also noticed the chrome on the front end angle jumps out a bit more. I'd say there is 15-20% more surface area to these than the 5-spokes.
Wife approved...so that was a relief.

The tires look so small. Look at the gap on the sides. Even if you were to lower the car, the huge gap on the sides of each tire would still remain. What size are the tires?

I think they look great! What gap on the tires are you refering to? I don't see a gap on the tires. If you mean the sidewall height, that can't be changed unless you want your speedometer etc to be way off.

These are 100% the same rim width and tire size as the OEM 5-spoke (since these are GM's dealer version...same rim depth, ride height, GM certified, blah, blah, etc...). In other words...18's.
Optical delusion...IMOP...
I broke them in tonight with 4 miles to the gas station and back.
(plan to bring my tire iron along this weekend to our run to ensure torque...I might be bald, but I ain't stoopid...)

You guys are right. Mine has the same fugly GAP. I also have stock rims/tires/suspension. I think I have been reading too many car magazines. Well I guess it's time I do something about this stock condition eh?

I heard Kale Auto Co. has a lowering kit for cheap.
Actually, I agree with your observation. There is a good-sized gap but given the slightly soft OEM suspension setup, I guess it makes sense.
I'd like to tighten the springs and drop the car 1"-1.5" as well (but this job would not meet official W.I.F.E. standards).

Wheels look great! I'm thinking of having the 10 spoke chrome wheels put on My FETISH. I've seen these somewhere on Solstice Forum but can't locate them now.... anyone know where I can find them?

I did a google search for Pontiac Solstice 10 spoke wheels, and several aftermarket companies came up. Here's just one.
Description: 18" x 8" Alloy Wheel
CHROME; 10 SPOKE

DEALER ACCESSORY; . Please make sure to select the desired style/color; The pictures on the web are in black-and-white. Product does not come with Lugnuts or Center Caps

GM offers two types of accessory wheels for the Solstice, the original type Roadie Rob has, and this type for those looking for the 10 spoke look. which I am guessing are the same wheels the web site that LowLife 1 found is selling:
