These might be good tires to have on the Solstice since we have no spare. You can run these tires even if they are flat!

With a pretty good compromise to the ride quality. These tires have absolutely rock hard side walls which provide no cushion. And i'm not talking a little change! All opinions of course!

Our Corvette came with run flats and as many have said before they came to be known as run craps!! They were first generation run flats but the second generation of run flats that came out recently by Goodyear seem to have the same reputation. We switched to Goodyear non run flats and the world became a much smoother and quieter place!!

You can ge the base RS-A tires as runflats actually. I don't recomend it since they alter the driving characteristics of the car.

If you decide to get run-flats, get a shorter sidewall - that tends to be slightly better for ride and you'll actually get slightly improved handling (generally).

In this case, check out run-flats of the P245/40R18 size - should be plenty of load capability at 28-30 PSI.

There are Bridgestone RFT of a couple varieties available (Potenza RE040, RE050, Turanza).

There's also a Goodyear Eagle NCT5, as well as the F1 supercar tires and GS-2.

They should handle well, but don't expect no change in ride - they WILL ride harsher. Also, if you see "summer only" it means that you should not count on snow capability - and most tires in this size will be "summer only" tires (except for the Turanza, which IIRC is Bridgestone's all-season design).
