I am looking at trading my N/A Solstice for an '08 GXP but it has some wheels I have never seen and I don't particularly care for. I would paste a pic here but it won't let me or I am not smart enough to do that, but they have 10 skinny spokes as opposed to my standard 5 spoke chromes. Anybody know anything about these wheels? They look like Pontiac but I haven't seen it in person yet. Just pictures on the web. If I trade I may see if I can just swap with them. I like mine better.
i believe those are the special edition rims that come on the Street edition. They are similar to the standard but split in the middle of each "spoke".
Are these the ones you are talking about? If so they are the special edition rims.

No, that is not them. They are ten equally spaced spokes. All the same size, all the way around. I wish I could post a pic. How do I do that if my posting rules box down at the bottom of my screen says "you MAY NOT post attachments?" And zactly WHY can't I post attachments?
Is it a used 08 GXP? Cause the calipers are painted and those rims are different. So only option is that it is a used 08 that was traded in or the dealership went through extra work to make it nicer which is sort of unlikely.
Yep, it's used and I liked those red calipers, too. I was gonna do that to mine but seemed like a bunch o' work. It's only got about 4500 miles on it. It's about a hundred miles from where I live and the wife is...ummm...cautious about me going to look at it because the last time we did that we came home with the '06 I have now. The wheels are growing on me a bit. I just like mine better as of now.
I like the 10 spoke ones. They make your potential car stand out. Try it for a while and then if you still don't like them, go to Tire Rack and try some on their simulator. Look at some cool cars on our gallery too and see what some of our members did for wheels.
Have fun!
Yeah, I guess it does make it look different. I guess those are not Pontiac huh? I have never seen them on any other Solstices. I hope I can trick...errrr...pursuade my wife that since I am driving the car more than I had originally planned, I neeeeeed the turbo. I mean, the n/a was fine for her, but I can't be puttering around in it. I thought about the GMPP stage II but that doesn't seem doable either. Tupelo, MS is a long way from Piedmont, SC. I will keep you up on what happens. I may see if the dealer would trade wheels with me straight up. Never hurts to ax.
Let us know if you get it on not. We have a lot of folks that ask us our opinions and never get back to us as to what decision they made. Good luck, we hope you are allowed to buy it. Take her for a test drive in it.
The Wheel Your Looking At Is Mb093 18'' Pontiac Accessory Wheels In Chromed Aluminum . Accessorie $ 1,400 . The Other Wheel Is Q9y Street Edition Wheel . Accessorie $1,4000 . I Have Polished Chromed And Going To Put The Street Edition Wheels On My Car .

I like those wheels! It helps make the car stand out from other Sols on the road. As others have said, if by chance you buy the car and in time really don't like them, it is an easy switch.
