I agree with Mr. L.V., the F1s are very highly rated for rainy roads....but then who drives their Solstice in the rain?!

If it's raining too hard, I put MARiSOL in the garage. Otherwise I would have to put the top up.

IF it was raining TOO hard.

The only problem with that size is that none of the tire manufacturers recommend using that size on a 18x8 inch wheel. I looked at Goodyear's website and couldn't find that exact tire in the size you listed even though I know you can get that tire in that size. I would contact Tirerack and ask the reps for their insight.

EDIT: Just found the info on Tirerack's website. Goodyear recommends a 8.5 inch wheel for that size tire.

Damn, this would have been one of my first mods, a 245/45 makes for a big ugly side wall.

I wanted more tire choices. 245/45R-18 seems to be an odd size. Plus a little extra contact patch wouldn't hurt. It seems the only way to get wider tires would be to get larger wheels as well.

Great tire on this car... you won't be disappointed. Just don't ever try to drive it in the snow .

Is it better in the mist and rain soaked roads then the stock tire?

I have them and they are great, stick to the ground like glue, much better than the stock Good Year RSA.
Here is a picture of the tire SM posted about, Good Year F1 GS-D3.

That's hot!

Except your rear tire is on backwards. You'll have to dismount and remount it, unless the other side is backwards too....

Couple of questions if you don't mind.

At what point did you get rid of the stock tires?
Or what did you do with the stock tires?
What kind of wear are you seeing with them?

Only have about 600 on mine right now but it is a daily driver I usually put on less then 7000 miles a year. Might be tough with this car thought!

I exchange the tires at a Good Year Dealer.
I go rid of them right away, specially after a few owners complained about wet traction problems.
I also drove a pre-production model my dealer had for a few days here in Florida, and it was raining, when you took a corner a little fast the back would start to come loose on you.
There are not enough miles on the car to show any ware at this point, although I always check the tire preasure cold to make sure is always at 29psi.
I could be wrong about this, but on tirerack when you look at the ware numbers between the two tires, the F1's have better numbers than the RSA's.

Where's the smilie? I guess some folks won't be happy with low-profile tires until cars look like they are wearing bicycle wheels. I think modern rubber is too low-profile as it is. And for what? Nothing but style. Doesn't more sidewall add to comfort, even if low side-wall adds to performance? I'm not against ultra-low profile tire **OPTIONS**, but as for myself and most of us, I only use performance a fraction of the time, but I appreciate comfort 99% of the time.

Just replaced the OEM tires with the F1's, and they are great. A little slippery until they get scuffed a little but then hold like glue. It seems like less noise than the OEM's. Only paid $140 each. I found a tire place that gave me $75 each for the ones on the car. Only had 200 miles on them. This car is costing me some bucks, after reading all the info here I had installed a GM CAI, GM (Borla) exhaust, mats and chromies from KappaSphere, window tint, 3M film on front, hood, mirrors, and yes heated seats. I live outside Chicago and they extend top down time. Now that header from Clear Image Automotive is exicting me.
