I have had this avon tire...on 17 inch custom rims for my Maxx for over a year know and cant say enough about them.....they them in size to fit the solstice...and rank #1 on the tirerack site...but with far less miles than the other tires rated......just FYI..the run $148 at tirerack, ....NTB/Merchant..etc....same price but about $180 after install and road hazard warranty if you are so inclined...
What about the PZERO in a 40 aspect ratio? Less than $20 more w/better cornering stability & steering response.
but look at the car....these are on...my Chevy Malibu Maxx....again....neither my wife nor I can probably tell the difference....as we simply drive the car for the enjoyment of it....and the Maxx is the utility hauler....if the tires give me good treadlife, are quiet at highway speeds....and good in dry and wet conditions......Im happy...seldom do we push our cars and we dont see how fast, well they corner, or autocross....we simply drive them....the maxx is my daily commuter......the bronco hers......when she goes out....and the sol....a fun car for us to enjoy together....

OK, but what about upgrading the Solstice RS-As? Why would the PZERO not be the best choice for the money? Plus PZEROs have a great reputation. But nobody seems to consider them.

I dont disagree with you....but I dont think most of us have approx $700-900 to just change out tires for the mere fact of upgrading..or at least we dont consider that a reason to make that type of investment......when it comes to replacing the tires.....different story....

True, I'm probably talking replacement, but no one seems to consider the PZERO for replacement either. I'm not sure why.
If I put on new rims, I wouldn't re-mount the RS-As on them. I'd try to upgrade w/o losing any capabilities. PZERO seems like the best choice, unless someone knows why not.
I also purchased, what I like to affectionately call my piece of SH*T/winter car, because I could not bear to get CCGIRL all salty! The tires on this car are TUFF!

Regarding the PZero's, if you go to www.tirerack.com and check out the reviews/rankings on all the Max Performance Summer tires, the PZero comes in 16th out of 20 tires tested.
The Goodyear F1 GS-D3 is the 2nd highest rated, and the Bridgestone S03's I have on my NSX are the 5th best. They all cost about the same.
As an aside, I used to have an Audi A6 4.2 as my daily driver for 4 years, and it came with Pirelli tires. They handled terribly, were loud, and only lasted 12,000 miles.

I was looking at the all season which are rated M&S and came in second to the Avon overall, but has better cornering stability and steering response.
Were your Pzeros all season? I'm trying to retain the RSAs capability but upgrade handling/steering.
I put a set of BFG G-Forct TAs on a set of the GM upgrade wheels and am extremely pleased with the performance and look of the tires. Sears ordered and installed them for me for less than $800.00. I originally wanted the Goodyear F1 GS D3s but there were none available anywhere. I'm glad I got the BFGs.
I have the F1' GS-D3 and they are excellent but also pricy,
I ran accross this tire and look into this Korean Co. (not Chinese) and based on the numbers they look good, check them out.

You can see the manufacturer's mileage rating here. The Uniform Tire Quality Grading rating is a quality rating system developed by the American Department of Transportation. It is designed to tell consumers the relative performance of passenger tires.
Below is an example of a UTQG Rating:
150A B
The "150" indicates the treadwear rating
the "A" indicates traction
the "B" indicates temperature
The ratings are based on controlled conditions based on a particular course. A tire graded 150 would wear 1 and a half times as well as a tire graded 100. Traction ratings are AA, A, B, and C, from highest to lowest. This measurement indicates a tires ability to stop on wet pavement. Temperature ratings are as follows from highest to lowest: A, B and C. These measurements indicate the tire's ability to sustain high temperatures which often cause tires to wear away quickly or in extreme conditions lead to sudden tire failure
You can purchase the Tiresavings Nationwide Road Hazard Program for this tire for $16.96 per tire.

I just put a set of Nexen's on my Grand AM, and drove in the rain today. Seemed fine. Much better than the worn RSA's. Did some hard stops on wet pavement, with great grip. Couldn't beat the price: $300 cash installed. Found them at my local fix-flat tire dealer.

I'm sure it would complement the Solstice very well. I'd bet that either the P245/45 or the P245/40 would work, go with the 40 series if you want better handling, 45 if you want a bit longer life.

As a Goodyear employee (I can say that now without any NDA issues) we are having an employee tire sale this week...so I casually asked MY price on the F1 GS D3's
price deleted """
Will run the RSA's (5K on them right now) till I need to replace them.
Two other points....you will tell me TIRE RACK is cheaper...but remember to add in the freight costs to their total.
Second point...already posted a long time ago...be very careful about OE changeover. Those tires are balanced to your car (see the harmonic orange dot on the side when you take delivery) . Changing them over will NOT give you the same smooth ride.
After you car settles ...about 10K then it really won't matter what you put on !!

also add installation costs to the tirerack total as well unless you are buying a wheel and tire package.....most places around here charge 25-35 each to mount and balance a tire....I have found that tire rack (or any mail order tire dealer)..and retail...about balance out when you consider shipping and aftermarket mounting
