Wheels sizes - potentially huge number of options

I've spent a great deal of time looking for chrome 5 spoke wheels that would fit, and in sizes I wanted. Up until now wasn't having much luck. I had seen on the web where some sellers had outfitted themselves with milling machines and could now match the bolt patterns, offsets, and bore centers to the customer requirerments on wheels which the manufactures supply as blanks. I've found just such a retailer and am currently working out exactly what I want. There is no added fee for the custom machining and I'm currently finalizing the deal on a set of 19x9.5" and 18x8.5" Ruff Racing R280 wheels. I will keep the board posted on how well this works.

Please note that this will only work if the wheel design is compatible with custom machining and the manufacturer will supply as a blank to their retailers. This could though potentially be the way of the future and open up a world of options relative to available wheels.

Wheels are ordered, machined, and currently in the hands of Fed Ex. Ended up opting for 19" in 9.5" and 8.5" widths. New Hankook Ventus V12's on their way as well. Will post pics once installed.

I'll post pics as soon as I'm all done. I've also have rotors and caliper paint coming so I can do the whole works at one time. They could only go so far with the offset (inherent to the wheel design) so I'm hoping everything fits ok. Manufacturers stay pretty conservative so I might be able to shave a few extra MM off the offset myself if the fit is a problem. The mill and lathe in the garage come in handy now and then. :-)
