So after finally getting my GXP back from the pinion seal recall fix, i've decided it's time to start lightly modding...

my first question.. i'd like to make it somewhat of a 'sleeper'. Are there any visual/body difference between the base and the GXP that would be obvious to others wanting to race me? If so i'd like to make it look like a base model.

Also.. i'm sure a lot of people have asked already so i'm sorry, but what would the best exhaust be that isn't too loud, but still gives decent performance? Preferrably i'd like it to sound as close to stock as possible at idle but be louder when i get on the gas.

thanks for helping the newb!!

do a search on the exhaust, it's asked every other day.

the only difference in appearance between the GXP and the NA is the front fascia and the dual exhausts. Not really much to work with in making a sleeper. Keeping the exhaust quiet is probably the best way.

I suggest you dont swap the gxp front bumper for the regular one, the extra grill at the bottom is to feed the intercooler with fresh air. The rear fascia you can change, but you'll have to go with the n/a exhaust which is only 2.5". The gxp needs a 3" exhaust and those are mostly dual ones. So basically dont change anything, just take the gxp badge off from the back and thats it.

I agree with shabby. Pull off the GXP badging and let it go from there. There are enough base models running around with dual exhausts that they won't give you away as a GXP, but the badging will.

The main tells are the exhaust and the badges. Get rid of the GXP badges and have some custom exhaust work done.

In my previous life I was street racer ( before kids )

I had my real exhaust pipes dump before the rear wheels ( not visible ) - and had a dummy single pipe hanging out the back.

You could also do a large diam. single exhaust - with a cut-out that opens before the muffler.

Good luck !!!

in my opinion the people you'd most commonly come up against who'd want to are the little honda ricer boys. and based on the ones i know, they wouldnt know the difference between a GXP and a Base even if they were starring at a turbo badge. So unless you got some smarter Honda ricer boys than i have around here, i wouldnt think youd really need to change anything except the exhaust sound at idle
