With everything else we went through figuring it out, I would say this is your best guess answer. If the light is coming on and just won't engage then it is not a fuse. Something (like a loose ground) is fooling the CC system into thinking the brakes are applied and will not allow the CC to engage. Let the dealership know what we found on ours so they don't spend all day in the wrong direction. Have them elliminate this option first then go to another if it doesn't work.

I was driving to work this moring and I turned on the cruise and Nothing, zippo. could this be a fuse.? feedback?
This may not help, but about three months ago while traveling to Arizona the cruise control was working, then after a stop I tried to set it and nothing. While driving I continued to mess with it and still nothing. After stopping for gas, I tried it again and it worked and has been OK since.

Posting an experience similar to Glider Rider's. About two months ago my cruise control didn't work one morning on the way to work ... it worked fine the next time I started the car (on the way home). It's been working fine since.
Just something to think about. My wife had a 99 Olds Mini-Van that the cruise control quit working. It turned out to be a bad brake light bulb. Replaced it and it was good as new.

I had a 1984 Pontiac 6000STE that the cruise wouldn't work when the engine was cold. 12" of copper braid between the engine block and the firewall cured it . . . Yep . . . a bad ground.

My sky has done this about 3 times where the cruise started working again after the car was turned off and restarted. It may have to do with the ECM receiving several parameters at a time that it can't digest together for some reason, and the restart clears the problem from the computer.
I had the problem with the cruise also... tap the brake. The peddle is down just enough to keep the cruise control off.
