Its almost 30 years old.... you'd never expect to get smoked by a Chevette!!
It'll be a nice sleeper.....Didn't have the money for a GXP of my own but hopefully I can build a fun, little, unassuming car for a bit less......

UPDATE??

I'd do a vega, there's enough room in those to wedge in a big block.

I always wanted a cosworth vega, even though it never turned into the collectible some people thought it would.

I had a chevette 4-door. I've owned all the ugly GM's.

Did the silver Vega thing and my wife had a 2-door Chevette -- Chevette is the better choice -- as ugly as it was the Vega was trying resembled a sports car -- the Chevette couldn't even pretend to

PS

Even my spell checker didn't know what a Chevette is

im doing some swap too but still cant decide which car to put it to either a 2005 canyon or a 63 vw notchback.

i will need some diagrams because the wiring harness is destroyed, , do you know if the camputer is the same for automatic & stick ? mine is automatic but i dont like the 5l40e, i want to mate it to a 4l65e and run it with my tci standalone computer, maybe we can share some info.

How much of the Splstice did you get? I would suggest that you think about a Locost 7 probably a 442E with the solstice suspension points added then use most of the Solstice in the build. The car should weignh about 1400 lb which would be the equivalant of douibling the GXP hp. LocostUSA.com :: Index

As long as you rip out the stock interior it will be a cool ride. Good lord who would ever buy a car with such a hideous interior!!!
