Between the turbo and the dual exhaust, I already love the sound of my stock GXP, but I'd like to get a deeper and louder roar out of it when I step on the throttle. Any suggestions?

My philosophy is either it's LOUD or it's not. Don't go half way. I got the Solo High Flow CAT and SOLO Street RACE Catback Exhaust. Here is a vid on the day it was installed at SOLO's shop in Mississauga.
Please don't listen to these clips using laptop speakers, that's just wrong. Hopefully you have nice speakers with a subwoofer, to appreciate the sounds a GXP makes.
LOVE the sound of the Solu race setup, and particularly the bark on letting off throttle. REALLY nice. Having said that, I think it'd be too loud for me on a day to day driving basis.
What I hate about my exhaust is the nasty low-level drone at a constant 50-60mph in 5th on the highway. The stock exhaust doesn't sound particularly sporty, yet has a horrible resonance. Anything (short of a full replacement) that can be done about that?

Can I ask you more about your opinion about Backfire? Is backfire, a sign of a cheap car? I thought backfire was a good thing to have. Can you give me some examples or stories about backfire being a bad thing?
Thanks for your honest opinion.

My Mach Shorty has that bark as well but not as loud, the sound of the system is great, not too loud and not too soft.

If you go to their homepage and click on the second news article on the left you will read my article. I think it may convince you to go ahead and go Solo, you can lose with Solo.

Today i had the muffler shop install the same muffler in the 2.5" catback magnaflow system. $200 on my GXP. Yes the Solo systems look like a work of art, but is a 3" system really ness. on a 2 litre mill?. Plus too loud for my taste. I was in the pit when he installed it. The stock tubes look ok. But the stock muffler is huge and looks very restrictive. The cat looks almost as bad. Large and oval. So definitely going to order a Solo cat. We started it up and just a slight rumble, actually i thought it would make a bigger dif. But with the solo cat it might be just right. ( For my ears anyway.) Good luck.
