The Solo exhausts have a lower pitch than most the others. I think the RPI would sound really good but have not heard a real one yet.

Here is mine from the inside while I was driving to work

Listening to beecee's clip I can tell you it is MUCH quieter that the Street Race with the high flow cat. I like the sound of the Mach a lot, I have even talked to Jeff about a swap out. The Street Race sounds SOOOOO good when I get out in the twisties, day to day in traffic it draws a little more attention than I would like from the men in blue.

Lil goat, Mine is a little louder than the Mach with Solo Cat. Mine is the Mach "Shorty" or so it's been named. The muffler for the Mach is a 4x9 body and is 14" long. The muffler for the Mach Shorty is 4x9 and 11" long.
This, from what I understand, makes it a bit louder than the Mach.

You have the one I was talking about getting with Jeff. I like it! It is a LOT quieter than my Street Race and high flow cat. Has a really nice smooth tone. I have a few mods under the hood that change the tone too. The Dejon IAT II (the little liar) I just installed changed the tone a lot. Running a richer mixture has changed the pitch.

I plan on installing that too...did the pitch get higher or lower? Does it sound better? Smoother?

Richer mixture is always a flatter pitch, less sharp. It is a bit louder in the car. I have had to spend some time getting the "little liar " dialed in, but it works really well. Forth feels more like third now. The place where I usually do 0-60 runs I am at 67 at the same place I used to be a 60, and I didn't really push it.

Well it's hard to keep track of whether each sound clip is SQR or SQR-2 or GXP RCD plus Mach or Mach shorty all with or without headers, hi fly Cat and/or supercharger.
Then we have our OLD memories of those fantastic sports cars of the 50's & 60's running on Hi test gas, which I'm sure is faded and smoothed out compared to what they really sounded like.
I really want it to sound like a Rolls Royce Merlin in a Spitfire......Ever heard one of those?

So my SQR-2 was delivered yesterday by DHL. I'll let you know what I think!

Have some more

Need RPM's for RR Merlin.

I'll settle for SOLO Cat, resonator & muffler unless somebody can tell me how to duplicate a Formula Vee.

I wouldn't say it's settling at all. Duplicating a sound would be hard press to do I'm guessing.
After seeing the R8 in the superbowl commercials I want mine to sound like that!

But I really do love my sound

BACKUP lights are on again! SOLO is on hold until I can process what I was told Friday.
My suspicion was confirmed at least by a supporting vendor, so remove any mention of resonator from any of my posts! I originaly thought a resonator was defeating the purpose of LESS back pressure anyway, but I did not want to argue for that point and get bogged down over whether one was loud or not. Loud & noise are not the issue.
If it were up to me and I could stand it while avoiding the coppers, I would run straights. Yeah right, those days are gone.
So, its on the road again and wireless dial up for sound clips and input from forum members along with a visit to a tuner, tee heee.
Talk is cheap but when the tailgate drops the B... .... stops.

Exhaust must have a muffler, and I would plan on using the Solo high-flow cat.

At idle, I want to be either the same as stock, or just a bit louder.
When driving, I want the exhaust/engine to sound smooth, not ricer honda-ish with a $20 pepboys muffler. When the rpm's increase, the loudness increases of course, but I want a really smooth sounding exhaust, maybe Porsche like or something?

I kinda wanted the same thing thing. I want to wait on a full performance exhaust with high-flow cat until BSR comes out with a stage 2 tune, but I was ready for some improved rumble. This morning I had a local shop install a MagnaFlow muffler, keeping the original factory tips and most of the plumbing (2.5"). Picture below:

They were pretty creative with the plumbing. I originally was goin
