I've done a bit of work with the headlights/fog lights, and I would like to verify I haven't installed anything improperly.

I put new HID headlights on the car. I also replaced both fog lights with light blue high power bulbs, as to match the headlights. As I'm looking at the car now.....

1) If the car is Auto (lighting, and I press the fog light button during the day, the HID lights turn off.
2) If the turn signal is on, neither of "side" or "Wheel barrel" lights are blinking. Are they supposed to?
3) If the car is On (lighting), pressing the fog lights does not effect the HID lights.
4) If the car is Auto (lighting), the HID remain off until the car comes out of park.

I'm mostly interested in:

Whether the "side" lights are supposed to blink with the turn signal?

Since the HID lights only have one setting (bright as hell!), I suppose the signal for "day lights" from the normal system would cause them to be turned off normally. This might explain both 4 and 1, but I'm not totally sure.

I'm also trying to figure out why one HID light (and corresponding fog light) seem to be either dimmer (fog) or not always lighting (HID) during specific operations of the vehicle.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I presume from your questions that you are driving a 2007 model. The 2006 models used the turn signal/fog lamps as Daytime Running Lights, always on when the car was moving. For 2007 they made the headlamps the Daytime Running Lights.

1) If you turn the fog lamps on the Solstice presumes you are driving in fog. Because the professional advice is that your headlamps should be off when using fog lamps, the system turns off the head lights to minimize reflection off the fog.

2) The yellow lamps above the wheel fenders are indeed running lamps, not turn signals, so they do not flash. I am considering a modification to turn them into extra turn signals, but I have not yet done so.

3) If the headlights are placed in the manual on selection, then even with the fog lights turned on, the headlights will remain on. This is because the Solstice knows that YOU are the boss and have chosen to override the system.

4) If the headlights are placed in the auto on selection, then the Daytime Running Lights would come on only when the car is running. (note the use of the key word "Running."

By the way, how blue are your lights?

Many states, if not all, ban the use of blue lights anywhere on a vehicle. They might lead another driver to conclude that you are in law enforcement.

Your "blue" should be just a "hint of blue," no more.

I think I said light blue, but you're correct in that the lights have a blue tint, or a hint of blue. Nothing to be concerned about... no more blue than my HIDs if you get my drift.
