Leaking air sound under WOT (BOV spring?)

I did a search for BOV spring but the current posts did not confirm a question I have to the tech audience on the forum.

Around 4000 RPM under WOT I start hearing a "whirh / whoosh" and the pressure drops just slightly, not a complete drop. I have gone through all the hose clamps and everything is tight. I know I should replace them, something in the near future. No CAI on my Redline, but I have a K&N tray filter. Does not make the sound under 1/2 or 3/4 throttle. Almost sounds like a belt slipping too...tough for me to distinguish.

At the last WIS-Sol event, MeanSol noticed my BOV was quite "loud" while simply driving around the parking lot. I started paying closer attention to it and noticed with even a short 1/2-second pedal tap, it would create a noticeable BOV "whoosh". His comment and my new drawn attention to it leads me to think it may be too active. Is that possible?

I stumbled on to the spring replacement from Dejon. Dumb question --- woud this be a potential fix? (or do the "spring stretch" as I saw in other posts to increase the load)

Is the pressure under WOT combined with a weak spring pushing open the BOV somehow?

(not being very car-savvy, I want to avoid a new BOV replacement w/o mechanic oversight)

For anyone that knows the story of my 1st Sky (...Hahn turbo...missing bolts...exhaust fire...), your comment is kind of funny and ironic.

But, a very good point - I will remove the heat shield and double-check tonight. Thanks for the post!

I went ahead and ordered the heavier spring from Dejon anyway. I figured for only $13 w/ shipping, why not try it.

One less meal at Taco Bell I guess......

The stiffer spring did reduce the sound ?

or did you find any answer why the BOV is much louder ?

thanks
