Well according to the dealer I need a new high pressure fuel pump /regulator as the car went in to limp mode and the pump was rattling way more than normal . 7 to 10 days to get the parts from the US funny how I can get pretty well anything out of the states overnight

Dealers up here apperantly never heard of overnight shipping, its pathetic. Whats even worse is that due to all the downtime time the car rental will cost more than the price for overnight shipping.

When a customer's car is down here in the States with a warranty issue most dealers DO use overnight shipping ... it doesn't come out of their pocket!

Now, I don't know what the GM Canada warranty is or if it is different - but I would certainly ask WHY they did not SPAC that part for you. JM

It took over a month for the dealer to get a new top for me, with no ability to track. it's ridiculous! If my business ran like that, we wouldn't be a business for long.

Well no rental required as the GXP is a sunny day driver only but having it parked on the dealers lot for that long with no protection from the elements sucks we get a lot of severe thunderstorms with hail here.

When the dealer uses a SPAC, they order the part for your specific VIN and can usually get it faster. That's my understanding but I know there is more to it.

IIRC it also ties the part to the warranty repair ... THUS it tell the Parts Warehouse that the item in question is NOT just being ordered for stock but for a WARRANTY repair that will cost RENTAL vehicle expenses (GM pays up to 3 days) if the time exceeds the 3 days then it must be explained. IOW ... they might have to explain why they didn't order it SPAC if they end up paying rental for 7-10 days!!

Call the Pontiac Customer Service Number in the back of your Owner's Manual... ask them about your situation.

This is my Daily Drive ... If a dealer left me high and dry for 7-10 days without a car on a warranty repair

My wife has a Chevy Blazer as well so no big deal just sucks to have no Sol when the weather is good. Plus it is sitting outside on the dealers back lot until the parts arrive.
