I'm trying to decide which Catback exhaust to get. Which of these two exhausts sounds the best and gives the best performance. I have never heard any of these aftermarket exhausts in person yet. Also, are the high flow cats worth the money?

Thanks in advance.

Solo... do a search...there is a huge amount of info regarding this including video with sound clips. My Solo system rocks..

Do you have an N/A or GXP? Solo has what you need..

I've always used Magnaflow in my cars. They have low drone and respectable idea noise. I've heard a clip or two on YouTube of a Solo exhaust setup and it seems the Solo is a little to loud (almost Civic-with-cheap-exhaust like of sound).

The MF has more of a deep sound.

I say SOLO all the way.
I disagree with the statement of being to loud and I know mine does not sound like a Civic.
SOLO has different set ups so they all my sound a little different.
I do agree that they will have what you want and/or need.
I do think that the high flow cat is worth the money.

having heard both in person, its honestly a personal choice...I have a magnaflow cat back on our N/A, but that was before SOLO hit the market...for customer service, Jeff and his folks cant be beat.....if I had to do it over again...I would go SOLO....

Unfortunately, "listeneing" to clips on youtube, or any recorded version, does not provide listener with the ability to judge the merits and quality of any system. Value, sound, performance etc, can only be judged by you in the seat. The sytems you are looking at both provide all of the above. Sound and performance are subjective. I was in your position just after I purchased my NA in May. I read, researched, listened to the sound clips till my ears were ringing and totally confused. I have always upgraded factory exhaust on my motorcycles, again, all the above factors enter into choice and don't forget the apperance. I ended up taking a leap of faith. It was important to me to be able to do the entire exhaust. Header, High flow cat, and back end. I was fortunate enough to have SOLO in my backyard so to speak. I live in Mississauga, Canada about 15 minutes from Zoro Mufflers that have installed many of the SOLO sytems on our Sol's. The support for SOLO on this board is incredible. It does not drone or sound like a Civic. In my opinion. The Solo system like the Sol, puts a smile on my face, every time I turn the key. Good luck. I know you'll be happy if you choose Solo. Cheers!

I am pretty high on the Magnaflow products. A nice low rumble at idle that progresses to a nice wind up during spirited acceleration. Zero drone at speed in 5th gear, with really nice burble on the deceleration side of things. Lifetime warranty that I have actually had the chance to use on a previous vehicle.

That said, the Magnaflow is fairly subtle compared to Solo's products. Solo has a range of products that run from reasonable to downright noisy (in a good way). I do not agree with the Ricey Civic comparison though.

i had the magnaflow on before the Solo...i can honestly say that the magnaflow doesn't have the loudness when idling but gives the sound you need when you hammer down...The solo is definitely louder (which was a little aggrevating at first) but the look can't be matched with the center exhaust.

i'm in the same boat.

I LOVE the look of the fascia-less y-pipe duals (solo's street race and RPi's GT). I still have not heard the street race for myself and worry it might be too loud but the RPi's sounds PERFECT. I wonder how much extra it would cost for SOLO to add a couple of bullet mufflers inline..

My downpipe is catless so when everything comes together there won't be anything but the turbo quieting down the exhaust.

I have an 06 N/A they I put a magnaflow exhaust on. After that I added a supercharger, tri-y header and hi-flow cat. Wife would not ride in the car. I drove to Buffalo and had a Sols center exit installed. I did a film clip on the way up and the way back for comparison.

It can be found at HTTP:\\putfile.com\critterman

It will tell you the entire story and give a good comparison.

Does Solo exhaust only come in the center setup? Maybe the official website has higher quality clips.

EDIT: I clicked the links in that sig of one of the other members and got some better clips. I'll retract my earlier statement, the SOLO sounds pretty solid afterall.

I have a solo mach shorty and couldn't be happier. I also echo the comments about Jeff. It was one the best buying/support experiences I have had
