Last week during a sudden torrential downpour I lost road visibility and hit a curb at about 30mph. I was concerned about alignment and maybe the IC being damaged but saw no signs that anything was amiss. Then I noticed that with the top up at idle I would get some exhaust odor. Then the next day when I WOT to pass a truck I heard a loud "Blappp" and lost power. I backed off and tried several other WOT with no issues, so I blew it off as a one-time occurrence. Now I have a check engine light and the code is P2187 (lean fuel mix at idle). I'm thinking that a weld on the exhaust system may have cracked so I'm going to take it by my exhaust shop and have them check. Otherwise I guess that I'll have to revert my ECM back to stock from BSR and haul it into the shop. Anyone know if changing from BSR tune back to stock will clear the codes, and has anyone had a similar issue?

For a P2187, you could very well be on the right track having the exhaust looked at.

Have them also check the gaskets in the forward parts of the system and the turbocharger area. They should look for the black discoloration a leak would cause.

After taking the car into the muffler shop it appears that the gasket between the Solo Hi-Flow CAT and the car exhaust has moved or loosened. You can hear exhaust escaping there although the bolts appear tight, you can still move the gasket around. The seal for the 2nd O2 sensor also doesn't appear to be seated securely. I guess I'll order another gasket and O2 extension from Solo and see if that resolves the problem. My best guess is that the installer did not tighten the CAT bolts uniformly and under vibration and thermal shock (I just drove through a lot of standing water) if allowed the seal to unseat.

No doubt, it speaks well of the car construction though. I checked out the curb this AM and it actually has a shallow ramp where I hit it. Lucky thing for me.
