Oil Changes

I got my oil changed at the dealer and about 200 miles after the oil change I noticed my oil temps(through DashHawk) were 260F!

I checked my oil level today and there was no oil on the dipstick at all. I slowly began the process of adding small amounts of oil and started the engine for a few minutes and waiting for it to drain down then checking it again. It took a total of 2.3 quarts of oil.

Has anyone ever been shorted oil by this much before at a dealer?

Oil temps are now around 190F

I always check my oil level before driving off, IF i have someone do it other than i. So, no, i havent ever been shorted oil. I'd be pissed to find what you did though.

Sorry that it happened when it definitely shouldn't have.

I change my own oil so I don't have to worry about that. Plus even though I do it myself, I will still walk around the car and check everything that I did before I pull it off the ramps. That is what those dealer techs should do. Make sure all work was done and all tools removed.

Update: Guess the car is not okay now.... It is blowing lots of smoke today and has a check engine light. It will be towed to the dealer tomorrow.
