I've had 2 Specs on my Formula. It was a Spec Stage V that I ran my first couple of 9 second passes on. I ran a Stage 4 a couple of years on the street without any issue. Even the Stage 5 wasn't a that bad.
Looking at Spec's website it looks like a different pressure plate that is better than the stock design.
"Comments:
This package converts the restrictive and vague factory SAC type pressure plate to a SPEC exclusive billet 360 degree pivot unit with higher load/rpm ability, better drivability and longer life than can be achieved with a modified factory design."
A Stage 2+ is rated at 543 torque, more than enough to last a good long time. There are places tossing in free shipping on an Spec setup too. I won't do a aluminum flywheel unless this is a road course track car. On the street you'll have to rev it up higher than normal to pull away from a stop.
Exedy has very good looking parts, but they seem to be very proud of them and not afraid to show it.

Just be aware that on our cars, to use the SPEC Non-SAC unit, you have to buy their flywheel as well. I've been in a Solstice with the Stage 2+, the pedal feel is extremly heavy, and the harmonics will shake you apart on decel. We recently had a turbo customer pull his out and went back to stock due to the issues with it.
We have a new clutch in the testing phase on the 2.4, and soon to be on the 2.0. So hang on if you can, we're putting on as many miles on the new unit as possible and should release it soon

I was giving feedback on my high HP LSx engine setups. Spec has always given me a good bang for the buck single disc clutch.
