I am just looking at LE5 via HPTuners. LE5 is pulse width modulated also.

Fan desired % starting at 196F is 6.25, 199F is 12.5...or about every 3-4 degrees for each % listed below.

0.00000 6.25000 12.50000 18.75000 25.00000 31.25000 37.50000 43.75000 50.00000 56.25000 62.50000 68.75000 75.00000 81.25000 87.50000 93.75000 99.98932

AC controls fan desired % vs AC psi. I'll save you the numbers.

No info on what ambient temperature for fan to come on when AC is on.

Thanks for highlighting this.

The LNF Kappas have a PWM controlled fan and will command a 10% duty cycle starting at about 197F from my own experience.

In order for that to happen wouldn't the engine need to be off?

That being said the engine will cool off better if the car is left in drive while coasting since the RPM will probably be higher and under many circumstances the fuel is cut off, no fuel = no energy input to the engine and thus coolant.

The LE5 does have PWM capability in the software; however, it is not used (it will report out a desired fan PWM signal though). The LE5 has two discrete fan speeds, high and low which corresponds to the two fan relays which IIRC are not present on the LNF engine. From what I remember AC pressure will also trigger the fan to kick on if pressure rises above a certain pressure, there are two set points for the LE5 and a table which you so kindly spared us .

I'm not familiar with HPtuners application, but if you can command various %s you'll should find there is no change until X% then another step change at Y%. I've never commanded various %s on a discrete fan speed application, only on my own variable speed personal car so I can't say for sure if it'll work.

Is the HPTuners software capable of commanding the ECM?

edit: Just saw the PM.
