CD will not advance to next CD...repeats same CD. I have selected RMD OFF. I can advance to next CD by pushing the "CD" button. Dealer is willing to change out CD player, however, I don't like shop exchanges.

Anyone else with this problem?
I don't have the problem, but if you pull the fuse or disconnect the battery for a while, maybe it will reset itself?
Funny, but after having my baby in storage for the winter, I thought "gee, didn't it used to advance to the next CD?". Now I know I'm (probably) NOT crazy....hmmmm

Every post on this subject that I can remember, has the 6-disc CD changer operating this way. Well except for SkyGazer's post that follows yours.
I wonder if there is any difference on how they play vs how they were loaded (ie individually or in multiples).
By the way, here is what every one previously agreed to on the subject of exchanges:

you can also randomize all and it will jump all over all 6...but it will not finish one CD and automatically go to the second...
you gotsta hit the little arrow to make that happen.
I agree, my CD player has never automatically advanced to the next CD. I always assumed that auto-advance was simply not a capability of the player.
Do you have some documentation or information that would imply that it should auto-advance to the next CD?

The CD player will not auto advance to the next CD however as Druid said if you randomize ALL then it will jump back and forth between ALL 6 CD's.

I thought mine USED to play consectutive CDs, but it no longer does so. I mostly listen to radio. I have NEVER gotten it to play a cd loaded w/ mp3s.

John,
When I had the car the ONLY cd's in the changer were MP3 type and it played them fine, I had a total of 6 cd full of MP3 files and never had a problem.
The cd changer does not play CD's consecutive, but it will play or skip to different CD's if you set it to play randomly.
Just a thought on your MP3 issue, is possible you need to clear the CD memory(for a lack of a better term) since is possible that ALL those MP3 files I loaded using the 6 cd's may still be in memory and since those cd's are no longer in the player you may have to reset or clear the memory.

I believe we all have this problem and changing out the CD player won't help. I had the same question(thread) about a year and a half ago and no resolution. I now use MP3 format CD's and they hold about 165 songs so I don't have to watch it so close.
