Here goes with another dealer/sub shop screw up.
A little back ground on duckie first. In my OSHA job I had to inhabit a cube across from a laid off Textile Chemist. Dude really got on my nerves but he knew his textiles, stain removal and such so I put away my dislike for the guy and learned as much as I could before he left for another job.
Wife's son calls with the news a ball point pen has exploded in wifes' white sweater pocket and some leaked (like dime size spot) on the leather seat of the 08 Acadia
I am on the road way past turn around/response and instructions are:
1) lay a cloth or the sweater over the ink and moisten to keep the ink moist but not soaked, do not
RUB
2) dump jolt at the dentist and call me back
I call Animal House Dealer and talk to service dude and he says get it to them or Lee pronto, there is a bulletin(?).
We discuss and the procedure is "Prep Sol (DuPont) misted on a cloth and directly on the ink with vacuum suction removal
ABSOLUTELY NO RUBBING go slow may take like two hours on and off of repeat process and even then some
DYE may be needed.
Good for me, good old trichlor and suction-learned that from textile chemist AND my Adult Scouting bro at Chapel Hill Cleaners.
If more than two hours time is involved we are into a "Unit" replacement.
I call Lee, they say get her in
THEY will take care of it.
3) call wife and give her bulletin? info and tell her to make sure they don't
RUB the stain!
End of story, Lee, dealer, send the 08 Acadia out to a detail shop
ALBRITTON CLEANUP 430 W. 4TH STREET WASHINGTON NC and what do they do,
RUB THE FREAKIN FINISH OFF THE SEAT WITH AN ABRASIVE CLOTH
