Here goes with another dealer/sub shop screw up.

A little back ground on duckie first. In my OSHA job I had to inhabit a cube across from a laid off Textile Chemist. Dude really got on my nerves but he knew his textiles, stain removal and such so I put away my dislike for the guy and learned as much as I could before he left for another job.

Wife's son calls with the news a ball point pen has exploded in wifes' white sweater pocket and some leaked (like dime size spot) on the leather seat of the 08 Acadia

I am on the road way past turn around/response and instructions are:

1) lay a cloth or the sweater over the ink and moisten to keep the ink moist but not soaked, do not RUB

2) dump jolt at the dentist and call me back

I call Animal House Dealer and talk to service dude and he says get it to them or Lee pronto, there is a bulletin(?).

We discuss and the procedure is "Prep Sol (DuPont) misted on a cloth and directly on the ink with vacuum suction removal

ABSOLUTELY NO RUBBING go slow may take like two hours on and off of repeat process and even then some DYE may be needed.

Good for me, good old trichlor and suction-learned that from textile chemist AND my Adult Scouting bro at Chapel Hill Cleaners.

If more than two hours time is involved we are into a "Unit" replacement.

I call Lee, they say get her in THEY will take care of it.

3) call wife and give her bulletin? info and tell her to make sure they don't RUB the stain!

End of story, Lee, dealer, send the 08 Acadia out to a detail shop ALBRITTON CLEANUP 430 W. 4TH STREET WASHINGTON NC and what do they do,

RUB THE FREAKIN FINISH OFF THE SEAT WITH AN ABRASIVE CLOTH

SFB's

well looks like the detail shop has some work to do.......dealership fault.....hard to say at this point since they subed the work out...but if you relayed info to the dealer....he had a bulletin.....seems odd they passed it out to a detail shop with no clue....

Jeez!!!!!!!!!
It is impossible to get good service ANYWHERE these days! At least it sure seems that way. Man, that is nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You gave them the roadmap, and they tore it up and used it for birdcage liner.

Just got off the phone with David Lee, Lee Chevrolet.

Fine gentleman and of course he did not know the situation, my word was the first of it.

So he is on a look see, tell me what happened, I/we don't need this mission walk about his dealership.

Told him was not his fault, it IS whoever outsourced to these knotheads and the de TAIL shop.

Told him no apology necessary just a finger shake/kick in the rear, his choice at his back shop and the de TAILl shop about how things like this just don't need to happen.

He said he will call Doug Henry who has a cover in and square on my house account over there.

I do my own oil on my ramps and any jacking I do will be on my jack with pucks or styro. Only lift service will be by Doug Henry and his Vette jacks and lifts. They had SLY up in Goldsboro for SOLO install with no problems. At Farmville, they wanted to know what I used for detail, my shine, the gloss the gloss

Only things Lee has done and I am well satisfied, is clear a blown turbo clamp engine code and NitroFill which to me is a very good deal just for the tire abuse I go through on the road.
