Anybody with an automatic transmission should check with their dealer about getting your ATF checked. Seems there is the potential to get water in the fluid and ruin the transmission. Obviously it is covered under warranty. They'll be very helpful. I did see the bulletin today.
Thanks for the heads up, an auto trans here but I don't drive it in the rain unless stuck (haven't yet, don't plan too) and it is garaged. Seems like I won't see roof leak issues either for these reasons but of course would like to know.
I guess washing her would possibly show roof leak issues if they are there but doubtful that I would experience this condition.
Could you post the bulletin and/or get it to the mods for posting? I'd like to see if they have a way to check for any indication that this will happen rather than being reactive if/when it does.

any contamination of the automatic trans..may have taken place before....supposedly there is a certain batch of cars that might be effected...you might want to check with your dealer either way

As on June 9th (information available to dealerships today), Pontiac has added additional VINS to the previous list of certain Automatic Transmission Solstices (and certain Skys) that they would like inspected. The procedure has also been modified.
These now include some cars previously delivered to customers. The cars are available to the dealerships on a list they received (if they have any).
The inspection and procedures will take place throughout the Summer when customers have their cars in for any type of service. Cars in dealership's inventories are still suppose to be inspected before delivery.
Still not a recall and no letters will be in the mail. Just a slightly larger population and revised procedure then the original May 31st/June 1st notice, that windface broke here on site.

GM/Pontiac/Saturn are now going to send out notification letters to this small group of owners that may be effected. The procedure hasn't changed or the VIN grouping, just the notification and an increase in the time to have the inspection performed. Of course many will have already been checked since the request first came out over a month ago to dealerships.
