I just was informed that after my recalled seal (rack and pinion) my rear carrier bearing is destroyed. The answers to your questions:

5/2006 with 15 miles on the odometer
7/17/08
yes
yes
never noticed a leak, brought in for service to replace recall 7/5/08
yes
1917993 seal
not complete
no, but a definite grinding as if I was grinding coffee beans

If you have any info as to why this wasn't checked when my seal was replaced, let me know. I am royally P***ed, so any info is great.

When did you buy your car?
When did you put your car into service?
Did you have a leaking Diff.?
Did you have a pinion seal replaced before as a fix for the leak?
Date and mileage when was your first leak was noticed?
Date and mileage when Carrier was replaced?
Does your car have a limited slip differential? (LSD)
Which part no. was used in the replacement?
How long did the Carrier replacement take?
Did you have the driveline “clunk” before the carrier was replaced?
Do you have the “clunk” now?
Do you notice any other changes that might be attributed to the Carrier replacement?
Any leaks since the Carrier was replaced?[/quote]
