OEM Satellite Radio Problem on GXP

It's good to be back after having my Solstice parked all winter!

I was wondering if there was anyone else here on the forum that has experienced the strange satellite radio behaviour I discussed in December here (see the text under the section titled New Complaint, at the end of the post).

Here's the text:

Quote:
The XM satellite radio works well, but the deck GM uses seems to be glitchy. While driving, if I slip into a region that doesn't have full XM bandwidth, the category names disappear. No problem there, but when I get back into a region with full coverage, the category names don't reappear unless I turn the car off, open the door, close the door, and start it up again. It's like the radio needs to be completely reset in order to get the categories back.

The same problem persists now that I'm driving my GXP regularly. XM service works great, but whenever the category names disappear, they don't automatically come back while I'm driving, nor do they come back when I press the CAT button to bring them back manually.

I've used the exact same OEM radio on several GM vehicles in an around the exact same spots where service cuts out, and they all automatically re-populate the category names after a short while. No matter how long I let the radio in my Solstice sit, it won't pick up the category names until I come to a complete stop, turn the car off, pull the key out (or open/close the door with the key in), and start it back up again.

Is this something I should bring to my dealer's attention? Or should I just 'live with it'?

Sounds like a problem and should be taken to the dealer.

I've experienced something similar but didn't need to shut the radio off. Every now and then when starting the car, the channel name is not displayed. Switch to another channel, and the names appear again.
