As strange as it seems, if the car has sat of night and is started in the morning car in reverse and apply the brakes it feels like the car will not stop. The pedal feels funny this will happen 6 - 7 times.
The search feature is your friend. There is a butt load of information on this issue. Mainly with '08 models. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I have an '07 and have not had this problem.
There is a service bulletin on the issue. Later 2008s were fixed at the factory. Mine is one of them and I don't have an issue with mine at all.

mine is the same an early 08 (cold start lack of power brakes), its a none issue to me. only if you are one to start a car and drive it cold. a 30second warm up. no issue. EVEN if i did drive it as soon as it turners over the brakes work just not power. You can hear the system building at start. stop listen to your motor, use the force luke. or get it to gm the have a software updated(i heard it only speed the charging up a bit)

you just need to let it run longer, mine do it to, they need to build pressure up. but if it bothers you that much it can be corrected by the dealer. O and MAC is wright.
My wife is the one who found the problems with the brakes in the morning. At the dealer they said they never heard of the problem before. As far as car warm up, its been 85 in the morning and the car at least 1 min. before rolling out of the driveway.
The search on the site as been helpful, but does seem to pull up alot of unrelated topics.
All of u feel lucky, I have lost brakes at all times no matter morning, afternoon and after a driving the car for over 30 mins I still have lost brakes and my issue/recall was (FIXED the same day i bought it). But I will have to see again whats going on, cu my brakes go out at all moments...

Here is the discussion and the service bulletin for the dealers to "fix" the problem. Print it out and take it to your dealer.
I have had no issues with early warm up as I usually don't just jump in and go after she been setting for awhile. Mine is one of the early 2008s.
The problem exsists because the vacuum has gone down in the brake booster and the new calibration will address the issue.
