That sucks. Are you sure there is a tab on the passenger side & that it is not tearing the fabric. Yours is the first with tabs that I know of to pinch. (lucky you) I did notice the rubber pads mounted on the trung lid press FIRMLY on the top in a prime spot to possibly encorage the top to pinch when raised. My top is down day & night. Its only up for baths & rain. The slippery nylon is making mine pinch free even with the torn liner. If it continues Pm me with your mailing address & i'll make you one to see if it stops.

Yes, there are tabs and they are black. I'll keep a close watch and thanks for the offer!

I was at the dealer yesterday and they ordered #17 on this diagram. You can see it looks like the correct part with possibly the tab on the top. When it comes in, he'll call me. If it is the right part, I'll post part numbers.
So this is what it looks like in a pinch. Happened this AM when I put the top up to go into work. It didn't rip but now it looks loose.

OK, I just got off the phone with my service writer and he ordered #17 and it came in with the tab. In a separate PM with Small Dealer, he had confirmed to me the part was the right one ordered and below is our conversation. It includes the correct part numbers, so get this information to your service reps to get your tops repaired.

There was a change in weatherstips designs before the end of 2006 production. So it is not a surprise that at your meeting you may have found different appearance among 2006s or between 2006 and 2007s. All 2007s though should be the same.
The part numbers are:
Type A (before 6/2/06. mostly)
Left: 19120246
Right: 19120118
Type B (2006 6/2/06 and after, 2007 and 2008)
Left: 19152963
Right: 19152964
In one of the threads some one posted part numebrs 19120120 and 19120248, those are retainers for the weatherstrips. The parts that go behind the actual rubbers. Believe someone did later poin that out.
No TSBs or other service information about the issue or additional "tabs" added to the parts. Could find no additional parts for that area in the part book or service manual.
Your dealership's parts department should get the weatherstip they ordered right anway and you will be able to see it that does the trick.

I appreciate you taking the time to review those threads. It is a guessing game on our part and I was looking to you for clarification and validation on the part. I purchased the Apr 07 Helminc ACDELCO service DVD and it doesn't reference the tab.
Is the #17 the correct reference to the part numbers you listed? My dealer is unsure and said that they won't even do any repairs to my top but that they will sub it out to a convertible shop and that they would be applying a patch to the worn out section under the right side.

I will go by tomorrow and get an opinion from another dealer, hopefully they will replace the top like they should, if not I have yet another dealer I can try. I don't want the tabs I want a new top mine is torn through, this wasn't my fault and I have less that 10,000 miles.

Be careful what you ask for. My thought on this is.. Other than tearing through the 1st layer Im happy with the fit (no noise or water leaks) & I won't risk loosing that ,when a patch may well be better than a replacement. Flip The patch may make the top more prone to pinching. Who knows? Maybe less? To make a short story long-- Let us know how your replacement top fits & if it came with the foam tipped box cutter or the tongue depresser.
I ahve a very good dealer, they live for the customer sat sheets. If they reaplce it I am sure they will do it right. But mine is torn pretty bad on both sides and has never fit like the one on my NA did.

I went to the dealer today to see what part came in and it was the right rubber gutter and comes with the plastic tab. It is a complete redesign. Pics to follow. Since it was an 1hr 15 to the dealer, he wanted to schedule me for the next day. I asked to change the part myself in the lot. He said sure, I borrowed a couple of tools and 45 min later I was driving away.
I went to the dealer today, had the Deepbluegxp pics in hand. Showed the service writer, then the mechanic then they got the shop forman who came out with a brand new TSB. It says if there is tearing or the top is cut replace the fabric top and obviously install the tabs. They ordered me a new top, he had the same part numbers listed in the TSB. I never said a word, just showed them the damage. They are having a professional top company install the top. Forman was on top of his game, asked me if the differential leaked or I had the ticking problem.
