Just Wondering For The People Who Got This
I Listen To Hiphop
So Of Course I Yern For That Loud Bass That Just Gets The Attention Of Other People While Im Driving And They Can Hear Me From Atleast A Good Distance Away

But For The People Who Have This System
And Listen To Hiphop
Or Just Somthing With Bass

Is It Worth Getting It From The Dealer

Or Should I Just Pass On It And Just Go To Like A Custom Shop And Get Somthing Better?

If Your Main Interest Is Sharing Your Base With Those On The 62nd Floor, Get The Baddest Aftermarket System You Can Afford. Monsoon Is For Listening, Not Broadcasting.

Keep in mind a loud stereo and a low convertible will make you an easy target for medium drink missile. I really love music and loud music especially, but I am particular to mine own music - not the music of the guy I am stuck beside in traffic.
Don't be that guy.

Same here. I like loud music well enough when its something I want to hear, but even if I liked trash rap or hip hop I would want to hear ALL of it, not just the bass line. Its just a stupid plea for attention.

I love my Monsoon when I have it on. When I have new passengers it really impresses especially with the sub behind their seat. Most of the time I have it off and just listen to my CAI and Solo Dual Exhaust!!! Music never sounded this good!!!

Sorry I opened up the can-o-worms - I did not want everyone to rip on you.
I went through the loud stereo stage when I was 16, everyone likes to jam out from time to time - just remember, the guy next to you might be having a really bad day, just been cut off in traffic, hate your taste in music, be looking to start a fight or even reloading

If you ever look back at something you did in High School or Grade School and think - I really made an ass of my self - in 10-years, that will be the stereo phase of your life.

The monsoon is alright - I was pretty disappointed when I first got the car, but after playing with the EQ, you can actually make it sound nice. It is not a set of MB Quarts (or whatever is popular now), but for something that is factory installed and you don't have to pull out the interior of the car and have rattles or broken panels for the rest of the time you own it - it sounds even better.

On a side note, I am not sure how the Sat. radio folks have gotten away with promoting quality. I would really like to listen to my Sirrus, but the sound quality is so poor that I just end up turning it off. What a joke IMO. It sounds like a used up cassette tape or low quality MP3.

You are very limited with the monsoon.
Don't expect deep bass or crisp highs.

Aftermarket wise, the most you can muster is 2 12s behind the seat. Without a passenger you could probably put a box there.
Never put your top down and you can squeeze a little more in your trunk.

There is a LOT you can do to improve the sound.
But your bass options are limited because of space.

Why would somebody on the street be interested in your mood?

It astounds me that you don't consider that you are annoying people.

I changed out the headunit on my Monsoon system and now it cranks. The speakers are pretty good, my passengers love the back massage when driving.

Hi Deepbluegxp,

What headunit did you install? I was considering swaping out mine, but I was not sure if there would be a big improvement. How would you rate in on a 1-10 for the improvement. I was worried that I would need to change out the speakers to really make a difference.
