Ok, so I'm calling this project...
Failure
So, I have decided I am not spending another nickel on this audio project causing me to decide to put my old head unit back in last night and take a loss on the project.....
What could be worse than losing money? Losing parts of your car in the process.
The discovery of the installer hell happened when I opened the dash and slid out the JVC head unit.... ever reinforcing the reasons not to allow just anyone to touch your car.
The next picture is what it's
supposed to look like when you remove the stock head unit. (Thanks to the awesome
HOW TO: Aftermarket Headunit Replacement, which I should have just done myself).
Now, here is what
mine looks like after Best Buy replaced my factory head unit.
As you can see they shoved about 20 ft of JVC accessory cables, PAC SWI-PS, and GMOS LAN 04 wiring in their Best Buy created nifty, screwdriver-chiseled head unit bay.

I won't even go into the fact that all the electrical tape was slipping off already because they couldn't even bother to let the ends of the tape meet let alone wrap it around.
The GPS magnetic antenna thing was just thrown in place in the dash, the ipod adapter was rubbed down to the metal at points. And on and on...
I know have my original head unit back in, did it myself. I have my tunes back to normal, my turn clicks back to normal, xm radio back and only thing left to do is sell it all and look at almost a grand in lost monies.
I want to thank all those on the forums who wrote such great how-to's and tried to lend a hand from afar. Unfortunately, I don't have the courage to do it myself and no one I know can help me so... *wah* sad story/nightmare over.
Thanks!
