Hmm, 2500 miles would be interesting to drive. That's a long long drive. Last time I drove that far was when I moved to Phoenix from Boston.

Sorry, didn't mean to change the subject =P

Finally the correct cable arrived for Sirius install. It really went very easily. Joe, use the existing xm antennae and with a simple end change, we were up and running. The factory xm is in the trunk on the right side under the carpet. We removed xm and place the sirius module. Joe used the bluetooth as a pass through and we had the radio up and running. This project is over and we learned a lot. It was worth going with crutchfield as their tech support was great. The manuals with the kenwood frequently had nothing to do with the model we bought, although the model number was listed on the cover. Must have been a problem translating from Chinese to English.

Any way I love it. Cheers has pictures that I hope he posts soon. Anyone thinking about changing the head unit will have an easy time if you consult with Deepbluegxp and also Morphious.

Awesome thread, folks! I am the new proud owner of a used 07 GXP and after much consideration have decided to have the Kenwood DNX-5120 installed. One dumb question I have is how can I tell whether or not I have the Monsoon stereo upgrade (I don't think I do, although I have the deluxe interior)? Second, what adapters do I need if it is non-monsoon. I have seen other threads talking about the GMOS-LAN-03, PAC-SWI and PAC-7. Do these apply with this head unit?

Check to see if you have a perforated speaker panel behind the passenger seat. That would be were the Monsoon sub is. Then go to Crutchfield.com and enter in your vehicle info, i.e. monsoon, onstar. It will tell you which adapters are required. The GMOS LAN is required for cars with OnStar. Crutchfield will tell you.... Good Luck

Thanks Deepbluegxp! I got the parts from several sources, except that I ordered a METRA GMOS-LAN-04 but they sent an AXXESS GMOS-LAN-04. Is there any difference between these units or these companies?
