Looking for some help on plug in navigation systems. Hoping some of you may already own one and looking for some of your input. I am looking at the GARMIN STREET PILOT C330. Its midrange model price wise.Does anybody use these and are they worth it? Looking to give this as a Christmas gift.
Hoping to hear some feedback.......

I bought the C330 StreetPilot this summer and I am totally pleased with it.
Had some trouble with my windshield mount, and found that customer service is terrific too.

Having followed devoking to Wisconsin with his gps, I can say it worked EXTREMELY well. When we needed gas and it took us right to the closest gas station. His Garmin is small enough not to over power the interior of the Sol but more than large enough to be very usable and very visible for the driver. If I were in the market right now, my money would be on the Garmin.

Great unit and Wal * Mart dropped their price to $328 here in Hinesville. I paid $409 6 months ago for mine and it is worth EVERY penny. My wife loves it, because it is VERY simple to use and we use it all the time. I bought her the Roadmate 330 for $160 on sale and had to take it back, because compared to the Garmin it was difficult to use (in her words).

I bought a Garmin Nuvi 350. It is very accurate, easy to use and very portable. You can put it in your pocket.
I think C330 is very good. The advantages of Nuvi 330 over the C330 are:
1- it has text to speech, meaning that it will say the name of the exit or next street (example: make a right in half a mile on Duke street) not just make a right in half a mile. this is important because you do not have to look at it.
2- more portable.
3- it has SD slot so you can add SD card for europe or england if you travel.
4- it has travel tools (curency/ unit converter, calculator...)
5- screen has better resolution.
6- you can have life traffic update (you pay extra for this service).

you may able to get it for arround 500$ on pricegrabber.com

I recomended highly.

The c330 has an SD slot as well.

I haven't seen a gps system that I was happy with other then BMWs own system which doesn't help any of us. Other then that I use a laptop running DeLorme or a PDA running Mapopolis. Both are a bit clunky but once you figure it out they work fairly well.

Ummm, don't forget your "adopted" son in Houston!

But I'd like to trade up to the Nuvi, thanks!

Plus, you can find the C330 for almost $200 less ... if you search. I hear good things about the Nuvi, but the C330 has all of the tools that I need.

JP, my boy, you know I love you, but blood is thicker than water.

Keep looking under the tree, perhaps something will show up.

--Chemist (I can't see the extra $$ for the Nuvi after running the c330 for 6 months, but that's just me.)

I was hoping you drew my name in the Surprise Santa, and maybe you'd just totally ignore the $15 limit and say: what the heck, it's only money!

I'll be looking closely at both and picking one, but maybe half-way into tax season when my wallet runneth over with cash.
