Im looking to do one of these installs myself soon. I have an '07 GXP with onstar and monsoon. One quick question: Where is the factory XM reciever box installed?
Thanks! (I'm sure I'll have more soon)

I got to see Morfious' radio last weekend, I've got to tell you, that is cool $hit, I gotta have one. If anyone knows how to get ahold of SkyNV, PM me, he's selling his.

I've got mine too, but will be waiting a few weeks for install. First time trying something like this so I know it going to take some time. I just have the stock radio with mp3 now. How does the speaker wires hook up to the GMOS-LAN-03 cable do you have to add RCA plugs to the wire ends or cut off the ones from the D3 and splice? The rest of the hook up looks easy, even the by-pass. VSS, reverse, parking brake are all on the GMOS-LAN-03 if you want to use them. The thing that I wonder about most is there going to be enough room to fit GMOS box back there.

Guess I should have looked at the manual first, was looking at the wrong set of wires, this is going to be fun

Good luck give me a call if you need some assistance.

UPDATE:

I received a call from Tweeter (my stereo install shop) that the JL audio thin 13" line sub has finally been released and that the 12" version should be out sometime in May. I am still planning on having a custom made fiberglass sub enclosure and the JL 12" thin sub installed this summer. Be warned this unit is not cheap. It retails for $449 and can handle up to 500 Watts. I hope to achieve a factory look, but with far superior than factory performance.

One more D3 installed

I installed my AVIC D3 over the weekend and what a great unit this is for the money. First I would like to thank Morfious for the great write up he did on the install, it helped a lot. I only added the bluetooth and ipod but left capped off leads to add on in the future. I went from a standard CD with mp3. The new METRA - GMOS-LAN-03 cable has all the wires needed to do the hook up, even VSS. The only difference I had was the illumination wire, it was labeled orange white in the instructions but on the wire harness it was orange purple, pinned in the same place.

That's beautiful. I've been looking for something like that. I wish the instructions were a little more extensive for me to try it, but beautiful none the less. Great job.
