Anybody have the SiriusConnect™ GM Class-2 Compatible SIRIUS Satellite Radio Tuner
installed? I have the GXP w/6 CD stereo, and I'd love to add in-dash Sirius if I could...

One follow up for you...not sure if you might know this answer or not, but you have proven yourself very knowledgable regarding satellite radio questions so far...you have put the people in the Sirius customer care center to shame! My Sol is an 07 GXP, that did not have XM from the factory. On the Mecca II tour the guys showed me where the XM unit goes in the trunk and where it plugs in, but they did not know if cars with and without XM had different wiring harnesses with and without the XM connectors. Do you happen to know if there is a common wiring harness or if I am just out of luck?
Assuming that the harnesses are not the same, and assuming mine is without XM connectors, I'll probably just have to bite the bullet and go aftermarket dash unit.

I don't know the quick answer for you. I have an 07 GXP with XM. If you want, I'll take pictures of the XM receiver and all the connectors. let me know. Maybe you can compare my pictures with what you have in your car.
Replace your head unit and you can add Sirius. I installed a Kenwood for ChuckDoc and setup the Sirius last weekend no problem. I even used the stock XM antenna.

The harness is different, I don't have XM either, ChuckDoc does. You won't see an antenna cable going to the stock headunit. Since the module sits in the trunk, that is where the antenna plugs in.

Cost is probably the deciding factor for most people. I like the Kenwood model you installed, but by the time you get done with everything, you're talking north of $1,000. I think I can live with XM until the Sirius buyout.

Pros:
Navigation by Garmin and comes loaded into the radio. (no CD required to operate)
USB attachment standard.
Sirius easy to setup.
Cons:
IPod interface sux, no onscreen controls.
GUI interface needs help. Lack of instructions to find things.
Takes a long time to boot up.
Blue tooth was a pain due to instructions, changed dip switch and worked.
MP3 DVD took a long time to load.
Background picture difficult to load and doesn't work every time.
Pioneer AVIC D3
Pros:
Complete IPod MP3 and Video on screen controls.
All addons were plug in play (camera, bluetooth, ipod interface)
Loads MP3 DVD fast
Boots fast
Background very easy to change
Cons:
DVD Required to change route or program route (AVIC Z3 has a hard drive, no issue)
Doesn't call out street names during navigation (AVIC Z3 does)
Both radios play DVD and Music DVDs filled with MP3s.
Both Blue Tooth phones work good with top up.
If I were to do it all over, I'd get the Pioneer Z series with the harddrive.
I really appreciate all the work my friend Deep did to install my radio.
I can tell you, the navigation by garmin is great. It does take a long time to load one MP3 disk Deep made for me (20 sec) but it has 20 complete albums on it. My regular MP3 disks with about 70 songs on them load immediately.
The main problem was the really amazingly poor documentation but calls to crutchfield quickly provided concise and accurate information each time we had a glitch.
Now that I am comfortable with the system, I really really love it. The sirius works great. The bluetooth gives me no problems, I do not have an ipod so that is not a problem. The backup camera is really great. Steering wheel controls work flawless and much better than Joes pioneer. (sorry Joe)(vol controls that slide rapidly)
Cost was 1400, sent 100 bucks worth of parts back and received the sirius tuner for free. This was because of a mistake in sending wrong sirius parts. Makes the real cost for everything around 1350
to me it was well worth it.
Also the Kenwood head unit dramatically improves the sound of the monsoon system. I was going to replace the speakers but now there is no need to.
Great feedback Chuck and Joe, now I am really confused still leaning toward the Kenwood, I wanna be like Chuck! I have a Garmin Nuvi 680 and I am very comfortable with it. Bluetooth works great and so does the MP3 player, so kind of leaning to the Kenwood to stick with Garmin.

The Garmin has a few diferences that took a while to get used to from my Street Pilot but over all, it was easy once I got used to the diferent menu. In particular the method of saving a location. You need to do it through the advance options. Of course if I read the manual (real men do not) it would have been simple but eventually I figured it out.
Also, Jim, how are you doing? I have missed seeing you. Last time was at the dyno. Thank you for all you have done. I hope your are doing well and hope we see you soon.
