Honestly, I have had the car now going on my 4th day and I have completely forgotten that the antenna is even there. And anyone even looking at the car does not even ever notice the antenna. I asked someone what they thought of the antenna and they had to actually look around to find it.
So I say that a stubby would be thicker and therefore more noticeable.
Being what it is, not a bad job. Knowing however that GM has done good work in removing the antenna (both AM/FM and XM) from view does make me wonder why leave this one on. Again, the bean counters need to be veto'd by the engineers every now and then.

Congrats Exelsior, that car definitely ROCKS!!
I'm getting the monsoon sound system and I'm curious how the subwoofer
sounds behind the passenger seat. Do you have the premium sound?

Sly-everything except XM, onstar and smoker pkg.
I have a stock stero system. Remember that while riding in a convertible it is enjoyable to hear the motor working and the road noises and everything all-together. It is quite rare that I even have the radio on.
But I did test out the CD Player with White Zombie - La Sexorcisto yesterday.
Showing it off already huh.. I don;t blame you one bit...
I agree with you about the Antenna...
I have been looking at a bunch of sports cars and I would say 90 percent have an external antenna, and most are in the same location, the Miata, Z4 and others , I don't know what the big deal is about... It's black and really don't stand out that much... would it look better if you swapped it out for a Chrome mast, or maybe swap it out for one of the Micro power antennas?

My Miata came with an electric retractable antenna. I don't see this an option on the Sol. (Or the PT for that matter). If they are NOT going to hide the antenna in the windshield frame, they should offer a retracting one.
