Hi,

I just renewed my expiring 3 month XM trial on my '07 Cadillac SRX using the same ZWINBACK code. The lady asked me where I learned about this and I said on a GM website. She checked and said okay and then we charged $77 to my credit card. They also have a special deal on a XM radio for I think $19.99 that works on any radio, car, boat, etc. The monthly charge is $6.99 per additional user. You can add up to 4 additional users which can be family or friends or your own vehicles.

I thought you should know...

THX,
Denny

Here's a good one.... True story, right about the same time my XM was about to expire I received the "monthly bill". I called them to cancel it and they gave me the promo. I told them I didn't want it because I lost my job (I did). She put me on hold, then came back and asked questions like when I expect to get another job, etc. She then told me I coud get XM for an additional 3 months for 15 bucks. I declined and said I had to save every penny to keep the car (and my house, etc). She put me on hold again and came back and told me I'd be able to keep XM for free for another 3 months. That's going the extra mile in my book.

Here's the sad end.... I transferred my in-dash service to a portable module so I could hear it in my car or my van. I cancelled my service recently because I was constantly looking for a dead signal to keep XM going while driving. It was getting very frustrating hearing the connection constantly fading in and out then, again, looking for a better signal.

My one year at $77 just expired, and I see I got automatically re-subscribed at a much higher rate (~$35/quarter). I'll have to call them and straighten it out. So be careful when your year runs out!

Let us know how it turns out. I'm nearing the end of my one year at $77. I cancel my visa and get a new number reissued every year -- which helps keep these things in check. : P

XM Canada has a great deal on right now.

Anyone wanting a cheap subscription can sign onto the Canadian service for one year for $64.89 ($100 off). As with the many Canadians who signed up for the U.S. service, all you need is to provide a Canadian address.

The offer is valid on GM cars or PnP radios.

Use code: OEMEPP100

at this site: XM Satellite Radio Canada - Activating Your XM Radio Online

There are reports that this $100 off special also works for additional radios.

This is the Canadian line-up: http://www.xmradio.ca/pdf/ChannelGuide_EN.pdf

vs.

the U.S. lineup: http://www.xmradio.com/pdf/channel_guide.pdf

I just did it yesterday (June 18) without a hitch. My 3 month trial was about to expire. I called 1-800-892-5400 (instead of the number on my papers. I got it from an XLR site). First I heard a recording from "Kaitlin" a digital receptionist. Then "Carlos" came on and I told him my trial was about to expire and I wanted to see if I could get a promotional rate I had heard about, I thot through GM. He asked for my radio ID, name, and address verification. Then he asked what I was interested in. That's when I said I was interested in the promo using code "ZWINBACK". He said just a minute, and when he came back he said it was $77 for one year, and I would have to give a credit card since it was a promotion.

OK, if you are like me, I did a lot of searches on this before I tried it. The latest success I found was back in Oct 06, so this is an update.

I found several suggested phone numbers. This was the first one I tried and it worked. I never lied about anything (although my reference to GM was meant to be a general one, i.e. thru a GM-related website) and had he asked anything else I would have told him...such as car type, etc. But I suppose that was already tagged to the radio ID. If I hadn't gotten the deal I probably would not have renewed. In a year, I'm hoping the merger with Sirius goes thru and they keep their word about offering ala carte subscriptions. I only listen to one station 99.9% of the time.

Give it a try if you want to save over the $12+/month rate.

Just so you know. They automatically renew your subscription every year through your credit card.

With a citibank card, you can get a virtual number with an expiration date and even the three numbers on the back. This number is only good one time so no one can keep renewing anything.

I use this for all internet purchases and it works great.

Just got my subscription today, my trial was going to expire soon and the promotional code worked without any problem. Tried to do it online but I couldn't find a place to add the code so I called insted. I didn't have any problem, It took less than 5 minutes.
Thank you very much. Great information on this Forum, glad to be part of it.

The deal still works. I ordered a year this morning. They didnt even charge me for activation. I gave her the code. She asked what the deal was and I told her a year at 78 and she read back the 77 price and charged my card.

I called the XM number and used the promo code, but the lady was ask for some other code on a card. I said, "I can't find it but if it will make it easier I can give you my phone number or address." And that was when she took my info. Great deal.

I can't believe it has been a year since I started this thread. Anyway, I again can say the '''xm deal still works"!

I got a notice today that my xm would automatically renew on June 21 for $155.40/yr. I called the number (1-877-228-9058) told them I wanted to cancel if I couldn't get the same $77/year I got last year. They transferred me to the cancellation dept. When I explained why I was canceling they said I could have the same old rate ($77). There was no hassling. I told them I wanted that rate or to cancel and they didn't argue a bit.

So go for it....again.

Since I put my stock head unit back in I now need my XM back on. I called them up and got the 77 a year deal. They offered me 2 years for 142 dollars as well but I didn't budget in a "good deal" so I had to pass but I will budget it next year (or fit it in my budget this year <
