Location: Still BellaVerde, But Now In Clayton, NC
I tried them with a version of white for my wife's Jimmy. They did pretty good. Remember, the job's not done till the clear coat is done. That faked me out at first.

Do you think it would stand the heat for the engine cover? I was thinking that you would have to use high temp ceramic paint??
That is what I was thinking ... I used high temp paint on the stuff I painted in the engine bay. It matched really close, was heat resistant and cost about 1/3 of the pictured paint.

What kind of paint did you use?
I read in some other posts, and talked to a few owners who have painted engine covers, that high-temp paint was not needed. Now I'm really confused.

I just used the 500 degree paint on the engine cover, so it was not the "extreme" temp paint some might speak of. It may, or may not have been needed; however, it was only a buck or 2 more and a small price to pay IMHO. Either way, I painted mine about 18 months ago and it still looks new.

I was trying to find something that matched the DEEP color as close as possible and this is the closest I can find. It's not an easy color to match.
I'll give it a go and see how it holds up.

Nah. I know several people how have painted the intakes and battery covers in a PT engine bay and just used regular auto spray paint. I'd bet the engine cover doesn't get that hot...

That looks good. Where did you get the red braided hose?

Autozone and they were around $40 ... enough to do most of the bay. I had alot left, but just did not want to overdo the "redness." I have added the Red Dejon IC pipes since this picture. You heat shrink them on and that gives a clean tight look.
