Black and Red grills

This is my first thread on the forum since I got my 07 base solstice two months ago. Quick question my car is metallic silver, I have already painted the grills black, but want a little more pop to the front. Do you think a red highlight would look good in the honeycomb area of the grill, like a background or is that too much. And if aomeone has a picture of grills like this please post. Thanks

Some states laws may not care for red lights coming out of the front of a vehicle. Even just a red glow. Now on the rear is a different story if you were to open up the honeycomb back there.

I think he is saying that he would paint some of the grill area red.

The front of the grill area in black and the back in red might look good. What the heck, give it a try and if you don't like it you can always paint it out again!

Leave them black. If you add some red it will look like the new front end of a VW. The golf turbo has black with red pin striping. Let me guess, this is where you got the idea from?

Post pictures if you want a critique when you are done. Really though, the only one that has to like it is you.

I would have to see a photoshop of it first, I think. Possibilities though, w/the right combo.

Not to hijack your thread, but have you painted your N/A grill to black and if so, how's the long term success. Mines not been too good. Seems the paint does not want to adhere 100%. Are there any other options, different paint or does it come down to installing GXP grills.

Thanks,
Mike

Update***tried to paint the grills red and black did not work out to well. So I went painting the trim a metallic silver and the body of grill a glossy black. I used Duplicolor paint for plastic for the black, and rusteulum chrome

Don't forget about the recessed grills that are available.

They are two separte parts, the outer grills

and the inner grills.

Just make sure they fit your model, be it the base or GXP.
