body kit

Ok so i bought an rk sport front bumper about a month ago and i have had the hardest time fitting it. i have a 07 gxp and on the rk sport site it says that "some modifications are required for the gxp", but i cannot find what they are. I called rk sport but they didn't know what needed to be done, and i also messaged members who have installed the kit on a gxp with no luck.

If some one could please tell me what needs to be done i would be very useful.

Thanks for your time in advance

Devinslawsby:

I may be remembering incorrectly but I believe the RK Sports Front Bumper Assy will not fit a GXP. I think I read that on a web site that was selling their products. Again, I may be mistaken. I would call them and ask, call RK Sports not who you bought the bumper from.

Hope I'm wrong!

I think it's cause the intercooler is in the way.....look at MadMods addition of Norms bumper....he had to knock out a huge portion of the bumper to make it fit.

Hello there are minor mods needed when fitting the RK bumper on a GXP as you need to cut out for the intercooler trim away some of the bumper support all of which are not hard to do, just fit and trim and repeat. As far as Madmods he installed a aftermarket intercooler which is the biggest on the market as our 430 bumper will fit over the stock and most aftermarket units without trimming though Madmods needed further trimming it still was doable and cosmetical fine. Thanks Norm

I installed the same kit on my N/A 07 and had a bit of a hard time as well. All worth it in the end. I may suggest that when installing, do the corners first, then the center, as you may be able to adjust a little easier. I was lucky to have a friend that owns a professional body shop and he allowed me to do the job with one of his best. If you are installing the sideskirts as well, I suggest some of the 3M tape along the piece directly in front of the rear wheel. It takes a lot of debris that is thrown off the front tire. Make sure you do an Eibach pro kit, to finish the job off. B

lol i love norms front bumper so much but a fiberglass front bumper scares the hell out of me, because my mom drives it occasionally and she ruined my stock one by running over a curb
